Great Idea ... Poor Execution

The idea of the bag is great... The quality of construction is poor- specially for the amount you pay. We have to bags with the same issue... Zippers broke after few months of use and the stitching of the shoulder strap pads came off.

A great bag for the photographer on the

I have more bags than I would like to admit. When working on location where I need to move around a lot (weddings, for example) I need to have a system for carrying several lens (and changing them easily) and other supplies (CF cards, lens pen, etc) and keeping things compact and yet handy. The Boda Bag does this for me, and does it well!

Great bag for a specific purpose.

Ok... so here's the bottom line. You've heard all the raves and rants. This bag is a very specific bag for a very specific type of shooter. When you fall into that criteria, then this bag works for you. If you're expecting a bag that will store your 4 lenses b/c the description says it would, then bag isn't for you. Let me explain. I'm a pro photographer shooting your typical engagement sessions and weddings. This bag works for me on engagement sessions b/c I typically move around and about and only need 3 lenses and one camera body. I start off the day with the body and one of the lenses attached and around my neck. A "white"70-200 w/hood and an 85/1.2 goes into the bag and yes...the hood does fit! (for those VR users out there, flip it!) I wear this bag around my waist with the optional belt strap b/c it reduces fatigue from your long session by lightening the load from your shoulders. This works for me. I can fit CF cards, batteries, a flash..etc. If I need to carry more, I just get my assistant to carry the rest. For weddings, this obviously isn't my setup. I'll carry typically 6-7 lenses and 2 or 3 bodies. So I'm not going to use the Boda bag as my only means of transport. I have other bags and/or cases to carry the other stuff. I think of the boda bag as a belt pouch. I stop by my gear and stage the lenses I need into the Boda bag for a given moment or event. If you're thinking about buying this bag expecting it to be the perfect solution to carry 4 lenses for storage and yada yada.. this bag might not work for you. This is a true workhorse type of bag - someone who's actively shooting and grabbing lenses for quick changes. In fact, in all the times I've used it, I've never zipped up the top. The cover has a button so you can keep the top flap open at all times. You'll love the bag if you figure out how it works for you!

Does What its Designed to Well

This bag I feel does exactly what its designed to do, be a hip slung lens bag for on location shooting. I've been looking for just this sort of thing. My only gripe would be that I wish it was wide enough to accommodate a camera body as well.

Not overly impressed

I bought this bag to use for weddings after reading other reviews. I don't know how one keeps 4+ lenses in this bag. There is only enough width for 2 lenses and if you use the padded dividers you could stack one lens on top of another provided on of the lenses wasn't a large telephoto (70-200 2.8). I found trying to juggle lenses to get a lens out from beneath another completely impractical while shooting a wedding ceremony. The zippers also were very stiff and felt cheap. I was afraid of breaking them. Overall I was not impressed with the bag and not sure how much use it will see.

Not overly impressed for the price

I bought the bag to use for weddings and walkabout after reading reviews by wedding photogs. I don't see how you carry 4+ lenses. The bag is wide enough for 2 lenses and I guess you are supposed to stack lenses on top of each other using the padded divider, but this means very awkard access when you are needing one of the lenses on the bottom. I wish it was designed so there was independent access to all 4 lenses. Also the zippers were very stiff and flimsy and did not inspire confidence at all. I used the bag for a wedding and am less than impressed. There is no way this bag would enable me to move from 2 bodies to 1 body and still be able switch lenses quickly and easily. It's too much money even on sale for what you get.

Love this bag

I love this bag. It has a spot for everything and makes it easy to shoot at weddings with just one body. I know it's meant to be a lens bag, but I also use it sometimes to carry my 40D and 3 lenses when I'm going out shooting.

Disappointing

I bought this because so many wedding photographers raved about it and I needed a bag to carry my 70-200 vr with the hood mounted, plus a 12-24 and 85 1.4, the SB 900 and a few accessories. The bag feels cheap, certainly not worth [$] I paid for it on sale. The waist band is a rip off that should be included in this high price. The 70-200 sticks up above the cover when the hood is attached. So much for that. The 14-24 is too tall for the velcro flap that covers the the bottom level of the bag. There is a very narrow strip of Velcro there, so it's functionality is limited. The SB900 is too tall for the side pocket. That side pocket is really worthless when it comes to any kind of pro flash. Poor design. The plastic D rings on the bottom rub my leg when carrying it. I soon had a sore on my leg from them rubbing against me. What's the point of them, anyway? This is a [$] bag in need of some serious redesign. Goes to show you what a lot of marketing can do.

About Boda Dry, Fully Weatherproof Ballistics Cordura Lens System Case (9.5" x 7.5" x 11.5") - Holds 4+ Lenses & Accessories - Black

BODA DRY was designed from the requested input and feedback from hundreds of professional photographers in the field. We wanted BODADRY to be a community based project. We are proud to say that we included all the feedback we received from our photographer friends. There were 4 areas we focussed on.

1) Comfort. This bag has so much designed for photographers comfort. New neo-comfort shoulder pad as well as option neo-comfort waist pads accessory, soft materials around body contact points, padded handles for carrying, the list goes on.

2) Durability: This product is made from waterproof ballistic cordura. Locking new age velcro points, box stitching and even a padded reinforced base.

3) Equipment security: All about security. Simply having the bag provides security for the photographers considering all equipment is on body. This new design has a waterproof zipper top seal.

The media wallet is fully weatherproof as well and has brightly colored safety media locks enabling use of media with plastic containers, or safely without. Additional padding for lenses and a tighter seal for keeping lenses safe, even in open mode while running. The black design is strategic as well providing the photographer a professional low profile while using.

4) Ease of use. Every pocket and every feature was designed to be used with one hand. This is why BODA is loved so much. It's fast, really fast. You'll be amazed to see a lens being changed in the same time it takes to access a 2nd camera around you neck. This is why we brought this product to you, our photography friends in the community. We set out to liberate you from cumbersome world of storage systems and multiple camera's. Enjoy!
