functional but not stylish

it's a lens cap. squeeze the two side things to put it on or release. the size is right, the springs are strong enough to keep it on. i had a lumix one but lost it on new years eve. got this replacement, it works fine. the front has a textured pattern.

This is the only one I found that worked

I just purchased a lens adapter for my new Panasonic LX3 to use with a Hoya HMC UV filter (also from Adorama) and found that the original Panasonic lens cap would not fit on the filter (or any other filter). I checked several stores and numerous websites and ordered this lens cap sight unseen. It works perfectly on not only the Hoya but other 46mm filters that I have as well. It snaps on securely and does not touch the surface of the filter (some snap on lens caps do). Great bargain. I will likely order another as a spare, as good lens caps are hard to find.
