I bought this lens cap for a Panasonic FZ100 superzoom, after I found the Op/Tech Filter Cap wouldn't work with my thin UV filter. I ran into two serious glitches. With the fast cap in place, if I use the full 25mm wide angle lens capability of the camera, I get vignetting at all four corners. I also discovered that my zoom lens is very sensitive to pressure and closing the cap when it's still turned on (it takes a push) causes the camera to error out, forcing me to turn it off and on every time I closed the cap. It might work great with some camera applications, if the bulk of the cap doesn't bother you, but probably not with many of the really long zoom lens cameras or on wide angle lenses.

I was a bit nervous when I bought this item as I wasn't sure that it would work. I was pleasantly surprised. It's a great alternative to the traditional lens cap. It protects not only the lens but the rim of the lens as well. In a fraction of a second I can have it flipped open to take my shot. I'm never going back to the old string and cap cover. This is a wonderful solution.

Would not screw on to lens. No threads to attach filters. Very large.

First, the item arrived with its cheap plastic threads stripped and would not mount onto the camera lens. Second the cheap plastic construction of this item caused plastic strings from the decomposed plastic threads to attach to my lens filter causing it to scratch. This item it a waste of both time and money.

Photographers agree that the Fast Cap is truly a winner. It is not only loss-proof, but it's dust-proof as well thanks to the integral semi-"O" ring seal. Once attached to a lens or filter, the base stays in place when the hinged, spring-loaded lid is flipped open by a flick of the thumb. The cover can be adjusted for the most convenient position of the opening tab. The Fast Cap is available in a universal design to fit most normal/telephoto and wide angle lenses. It is simply the best protection available.
