Questions & Answers

Shopper : Does this hood work with Nikon V1 with 10-30mm lens when it is used in the widest angle, which is equiv. of 28mm?ROBERT M : I tried it on my V1 with 10-30mm, and saw no evidence of any vignetting.JUAN C J : Sorry; I don’t know that specific lens, so I can't be sure. However the folowing information might be useful: I use mine on an Olympus 14-42 mm (28-84 in 35 mm equivalence) and it “vignettes” the image at the at the corners at the widest aperture which is 28 mm (35mm equiv).ROBERT T : I have an Olympus E-P2 with 14-42mm lens (28 - 84 equiv) There is significant shadowing at wider angles.GORDON I : Sorry I don't know the answer I bought it for an Olympus EPL1RICHARD B : I don't know I got it on a Minlta AL-s with a 40mm ix lens It works fine on itDON G : Sorry, but don't know how it will work with your camera. I bought one for my Panasonic LX3 (24 mm at widest) and one for my Minolta 40 mm. I know with the LX3. I need to zoom out a touch to avoid vignetting when hood is open due to added extension tube on the camera to attach the hood (cannot attach directly to camera lens). A check of your camera lens shows that you should be able to attach directly to the lens. However. Could interfere with the AF assist light and Infrared receiver as both are close to the lens Price was low enough to try them out Hope this helpsPAUL B : The hood is for a 50mm lens. It would probably vignette at 28mm. Adorama has others that will work for 28mm. Ask then for a recommendation.ROBERT G : Ask Adorama if it does not fit can it be returned for a refund! It is only $5 bucks!

Good Product for the Price

Easy to carry around as it collapses. Shows a tiny bit when used with a filter and wide angle part of my zoom lens, but I just collapse it a bit. Just a little bit hard to start the screw threads, not a big deal.

Adorama lens hood protects my Nikon lens

I bought it to use and protect my new Nikkor 1.8mm f1.8 Nikkor lens. It not only protects my new lens, but is (1)collapsible to save space in a small camera bag,(2)allows use of 40.5mm screw-in threaded lens filters, (3)facilitates my fat-finger access removal/replacement of a small lens cap and(4)is very reasonably priced by Adorama.

Lens hoods guard against uncontrolled, stray light and unwanted reflections which result in reduced contrast and possible "ghost Images". In general, the use of a lens hood is recommended because better contrast improves the appearance of the photograph. This accessory also offers protection for the front lens element against rain and mechanical damage.

Rubber Lens Hood are made out of a high quality matte black rubber. It folds down and protects against contrast - reducing, uncontrolled, stray light.
