causes image cut-off at the lower end (18 MM) of the zoom lens requiring computer trimming of every picture at that zoom range.

Nice Lens Hood. Works Great. Makes your camera look pro! You fit your filters behind the lens hood if you have any, then you connect your filters to your camera lens. Very Easy. You can even put your lens cap in front of lens hood. Overall nice price. And at Adorama is the cheapest and best place to buy this at.

Unless you'revery careful, the hood shows up in photos. It should have a wider mouth .

Biggest problem is that you can not also use a filter with this hood. It screws on where the filter goes, then no other threads for filter.

Though billed as a shade for wide angle applications, it did not work on a Canon Powershot Pro 1. It produced a small but noticeable vignette at full WA (24mm). The vignetting disappeared around 35 or 40mm. I also tried the equivalent lens hood from Fotodiox, but it was the same. Found an old Vivtar WA rubber hood and it works perfectly. I can recommend this hood if your lens is not too wide.

This rotating lens hood is designed for digital cameras with either built-in or interchangeable zoom lenses. The hood protects against stray light reflection hitting the surface of the lens, and at the same time will not vignette the corners when using the wide angle feature of the lens
