Equally as good as the Canon ET60 without the big price.

I took a chance as this was said to be a dedicated lens hood, but it works for the lens I have - and was much less expensive!

My wife and I went camping in South California with a couple of friends who are professional photographers. They recommend me to buy a hook for my lens so the light that entrance in to the lens where minimized. So far great product, fits perfect and I could see a difference (not a big one) in the pictures. I bough this for my 75-300mm canon lens because I love to take pictures of wildlife.

This basic hood is a smart choice for anyone looking to learn about hood usage. I got this for my Cannon 75-300mm lens. It works very well and is pretty easy to get on and off. However, I was unable to put it on while also trying to use a UV filter to protect my lens. Not a major issue since the hood itself does offer protection. All and all, this product is a great buy for the price.

I lost my lens hood at a recent gig, and replaced it with this one mainly due to the price which is much lower than the Canon original. I am very pleased with this hood, as it isn't as stiff as the one that came in the original kit, and is more maleable and easier to screw on and off than the original one. Wish I'd lost the original one sooner. The price is unbelievably low. This is a great buy, and I am considering getting another one for a backup.

I purchased this Adorama hood for my Canon USM 75-300 lens. It fits perfect and screws into place tightly and even feels like it locks in. One reviewer said it didn't but mine does. I've only shot a handfull of pictures but it works great and does not interfer with the pictures edges. I highly recommend. Especially at the price compared to the Cannon hood.

I bought this one thinking that the size would be equal to the Canon ET-60. But this seems to be smaller and doesn't fit the 55-250mm is camera. I need to spend almost the same amount of the money it cost to return it. So just throw it in the thrash.....

For the price you can't beat it! The lens hood is made out of plastic, but compared to the Canon OEM lens hood you can replace it for cheap money!

For only [$], it's definitely something to buy. It gets the job done and helps eliminate a lot of stray light and even rain drops. The only reason I gave this a 4 out of 5 is because it doesn't fully "lock" on the front of my lens. It more or less "tightens down." VERY minor issue but can be a tad irritating when forgetting about that issue and having to turn it 2-3 times to realize it again. But other than that, it works awesome.

This is a must have for anyone that owns a lens that uses this type of hood. It will protect the front of your lens & keep any extra light/sunlight off your lens.

Bought this over the name brand. It fits perfectly on my 50-250 mm canon and can be reversed on the lens which is great. It is plastic but seems durable--its camera equipment so care is always highly practiced.

When shooting wildlife, I want to be able to get a shot off quickly at times, and when wandering in the mountains, I might be in a bright meadow or darkened stand of timber and might need to be able to quickly add or remove the lens hood. The fit of this is great and its very easy and quick to get on and off.

Read how a lot of people use the hoods to help with their photos and to help protect their lenses. The prices shocked me; then I ran into Adorama, their prices [...], and I was sold.

I got this for my canon 55-250mm lens. Works as described, I've definately seen an improvement in outdoor/sunny shots. Easy on / off, snaps into place very easily and comes off just as easy, unlike the Canon brand hood on one of my other lenses which is hard to get on/off. Another plus is that it is Less expensive than the Canon version and works just as well if not better.

One of the most important accessories for each lens you own. A lens hood provides multiple functions: it shades the lens from stray light, improving your contrast and image quality; in inclement weather, it can assist in keeping moisture or wind-blown debris off the lens; and it protects the front barrel from the inevitable impacts against walls, door frames, and other real-life obstacles.
