Great value for the price!
This hood is a fantastic value for the money! It is the same shape as the OEM hood and is also felt lined. Can't beat that for the price. It also fits the 24-70 2.8 L lens perfectly.
It is a little thinner than the OEM hood, but exceeds my expectations for being 1/4 the cost.

It works!
I bought my 24-70 lens used and it didn't had the lens hood with it. I wasn't willing to spend $50 for the official one so I bought this version. It does what its supposed to. Only con is that it doesn't have the inner felt lining the original canon hood would have but that doesn't really do anything for image quality.

It does the job
I was looking for a replacement hood for my lens and stubbled upon this. You get what you pay for, but it does its job. It is flimsy, you do have to push it onto the camera. WHEN this breaks, I am going to buy an original Canon replacement.

Seems like it will work for a while
I had a hard time getting this onto my lens when I first got it. My original hood from Canon slipped on and locked into place easily. This hood, when I first put it on, didn't seem to every be straight. It would look into place, but crooked. I finally figured out that you gave to give it a pretty firm push to get it on, then twist and lock. This firm push makes me think that sooner or later, it's going to crack. I don't think this is going to last as long as my Canon hood. I'm going to keep using it, but when I replace it, I think I'll just go ahead and spend more for a Canon-brand replacement.

modifying to fit 24-105
I trimed off the bottom to cut out stadium lights on my 24-105. It works great! It looks like a baseball cap. As an as is product it is as good as the Canon original.

Good value
Slightly flimsier than the original, but still a good value. Definitely a better deal than buying Canon's replacement hood.
