This is exactly as advertised, a sturdy T-ring to attach a Nikon camera to a T-adapter. I use it on a telescope and also tried it on an Astro Rubinar 10/1000 F/10 lens from Russia that has an M-42 thread, and it worked just fine.

photo does not show the shipped t mount, better quality t mounts have adjustment screws to center mount to lens - this one does not - photo is not the shipped mount.

The product did not fit the camera. I ordered a T-mount for a Nikon. The treads were the T-mount and the T-ring gets screwed did not match. It looked like the tread on the T-ring was 1/16 and on the T-mount was 1/32. I'm not sure if I receive the correct T-ring or T-mount.

The ring needed to be adjusted for leveling which was easy with miniature flat screw driver. Now I'm hoping the flock of vultures 10 to 20 at times is still hanging out at the same tree in the city.

I was worried by some of the reviews that mention this being too tight on the camera and possible damaging the body. This fits perfectly and has a nice secure click but comes right off too. It's perfect for attaching my D7000 to a telescope.

[...]after buying this item, it would not lock in with the 500mm lens I bought from the same place.Called Nikon, they told me if I forced it, I would snap the focusing plastic clip in the camera.

Nice quality item, belying its very reasonable cost. Bayonet mount fits snugly with no "monkey-motion," as it should.

Used with a Nikon D5000 for astrophotography. Solid - Obviously well designed / machined - locks onto the camera nice and securely.

Bought this to use some old T-Mount lenses I had. Attached it to a 500mm Quantaray tele and mounted it to my D50 Nikon and it seems to work wonderfully. Need to shoot some frames and see how it does. So far it seems sturdy (metal) and fits to a "T", pun intended. If you own old T-Mount equipment, get one. Gonna try it on my Nikon FG next.

I bought this to use on a Celestron C90 Mak, 3.5 (90mm) Maksutov-Cassegrain Spotting Scope, to mount it to my Nikon DSLR. It does it's job without any problems. I don't use it that much so I don't know how durable it is.

I picked this up for use with a T-mount lens, but when I received it, I discovered a neat bonus. The adapter has a threaded ring which attaches to the Nikon lens mount adapter via set screws. As it turns out, the diameter of the lens mount adapter is the same as a piece of 1 1/2" PVC, so with the T-mount adapter, a short piece of PVC, and a rear lens cap, I managed to make a very cheap macro extension for my Nikon D80. By moving the lens forward, I can now focus incredibly close. (see the photo) The only catch with using it this way is you need a lens with an aperture ring, since the lens is no longer attached to the camera. You also have to manually focus, and set the camera to manual mode, just like you would have to with any T-mount lens. And yes, I've used it with T-mount lenses, and it does that just fine as well. I just thought that the set screws and the ability to try some different stuff made it just a bit cooler!

It might have just been me but I found this did not extend out far enough for me to reach the controls I needed to reach for connecting and disconnecting the lens. It needed to have slightly more depth to it to function easily. I returned it and had no problem with the return.

This makes using other manufacturer's lenses a snap. I have a Nikon and can use several other lenses quite easily. Might have to have a second one day.

[...]I was able to take a 500mm that I still use on a pair of old Canon AE-1's and use it successfully with my Nikons. Even placed a 1.4 teleconverter in there and got good results at 700mm.

I purchased this t-mount to adapt a 500mm mirror lens that I use on my Canon A-1 35mm. I just got into digital SLR photography and was very pleased that a simple [$] adapter was all I needed to be able to use the lens on my new Nikon D40. Obviously no autofocus, and the exposure has to be set manually, but that is easier than you may think.

An accessory ring available in most popular mounts which converts the lens mount of your SLR camera to a T-mount. This allows the attaching of all T-mount lens accessories, etc. to popular camera mounts.
