I have had this UHD tv since early Nov. And it's good but could be better, a type of edge lit that in dark images illuminates too much surrounding areas, 720p and 1080i not as sharp as I had hoped, facial tones not accurate and bright whites have zero detail, blacks are not deep, better broadcasting would make a huge improvement, but we get what they give, The set looks better with a bit of distance with lower resolutions. thanks

I have not played with the smart tv features yet but was easy to set up and has a great picture. not to impressed with remote but have the remote set up on my ipad which is better.

I Bought LG 50" 3D Smart T.V. PRODUCT #: 50PM9700. I t was Far the Best T.V. I have ever owned. Love the Fact that I can Run Movies Off the USB. Love the smart Remote. The only down Side was that My t.v. Didn't come with any 3D Glasses. All in All it is a great product.

We really like our new Plasma TV. The picutre is crystal clear and the TV is very easy to operate. The ONLY thing I don't like is the glare we get from our windows.

Color and clarity of the 50PM9700 is THE best I have yet to see on any plasma set. This is not our first plasma set. After our two year old 50" plasma LG was stolen during a home burglary, we purchsed this model as a replacement. We are extremely pleased with the performance and the improvements in picture quality.

I was thinking twice about a Plasma, but after I took it home I fell in love with it. The picture and sounds is great. Well the sound is so good I forget I have neighbors in my apt complex i turn it full blast while I'm cleaning and cooking. Can't believe how good it is.

The matte finish on the screen really cuts down on the screen glare from room lighting. (This was one of my concerns about plasma vs. LCD.) The picture quality is almost too good! Several HD shows we watch almost look too real, but I guess we'll get used to it. The sound quality on the built in speakers is good, and it is more than sufficient for normal TV shows. (We usually don't want to turn on the stereo surround system on a typical TV night.) Other things I liked: There are several physical inputs with a variety of interface standards (composite, HDMI, component, etc.) The programmable labels for the inputs are great. The built-in web "stuff" and on-lline access features are more than enough. My only issue with the TV is the magic remote interface. The wireless/motion sensing "mouse" is good. I've used similar devices on a PC, and the TV remote is as good as it gets. What I don't like is the complex menu that loads and must be navigated for any of the TV settings to be adjusted. For example, to switch from the cable box input to the DVD player input, I have to press the Home button, wait for the menus to load, choose the "input list" icon, then choose the input I want. The few seconds this takes is frustrating compared to just pressing one button on a normal remote control. This really isn't a knock against LG, as this seems to be how high-end devices are trending: simple mouse remote with on-screen menus. Unfortunately, this interface is a little too involved for my in-laws and my 3-year old to grasp. If I could just buy a second "normal" remote, I wouldn't have a complaint about this TV.

I just received my 50PM9700 last night. I could not be happier with this purchase. Easy setup, easy to use interface and the picture quality is spectacular! I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a great tv.

This is my 4th LG flat panel. 3rd plasma and one LCD. This new plasma is really the best I've had to date. The Smart TV functions are incredible, the picture is great. It looks like and LCD with the matte screen. 3D is cool, but probalby won't use much after we show it off a few times. So far so good. One minor thing so far...the TV sits very deep on the stand and leans slightly backward.
