I've owned this player for a number of years - bought new - It was OK until LG stopped supporting the software. I can no longer access Youtube and a number of video sites. I was until about a year ago.

I didn't know how much I would enjoy having a Sidekick until I got one. I love it. The hand wash only clothes, sweaters, and delicates are no longer wiating and waiting until I have a full load of them to be laundered. Now 1 or 2 items and I pop them in the Sidekick and they are done in no time.

I purchased the BD570 to replace a BD390. Mostly, I use the device as a media player from drives on my home network. I use only rarely the Blu-Ray playback and/or the streaming features. The native support of NTFS formatted USB drives was the main distinguishing feature between LG and other manufacturers. This allows for playback of large, high quality video files. But, it is USB 2.0, not 3.0, so really high bit-rate videos become clunky. There are a few drawbacks to this unit, and I think some of them are common amongst all brands. As I've experienced they are: 1# Support of 4TB USB drives. 2TB NTFS work great. In theory, this player should recognize 4TB NTFS drives, but I never had any success. I even tried limiting the number of files and folders to less than 2000 #see #2 below, but no success. 2) DNLA appears to be limited to 2000 files & folders, and doesn't appear to support embedded file tags. If you could sort by series name, or any of a number of tag fields, it would make the DNLA feature more useful. 3) HomeLink also appears to also be limited to 2000 files & folders. I had to partition the drive into 1.5TB chunks for TV series to make them usable. I haven't tested yet, but the same might be true for music files. 4) The 802.11n support is for 2.4GHz only. It would be really nice if it supported 5GHz. Also, I cannot tell if it allows for fat channels, which would improve streaming performance.

I've been surprised by LG's continued interest in my satisfaction with their product. It was only today that I wished that my Blu Ray DVD player with wi-fi would be able to access Vimeo. It is a small unit, and has performed flawlessly. While it reads many different formats, it won't read the few HD DVD's that I have. I'm happy with LG, and I look forward to trying other products of theirs. So far, I've used their phones, and DVD player.

My first ever Blue-Ray player and have had nothing but praise for this equipment. Wi-Fi built -in is just great. The apps are a plus. Sometimes it is hard to choose between, VUDU on the player or the TV, have to toss a coin! LOL!!. Great all the same. Best investment I have made in a very long time.

I've had this Blu-ray player for about 10 months now, and in that time I had to update the software3 or 4 times, and am waiting for another update so I can watch a standard DVD copy of Transformers. At this time when I put this disk in the player (it's only this movie, every copy of it I tried acts the same), the player turns itself off. I'm not sure what the other updates have done for me, but until this one I would have said the player operated flawlessly. This issue does concern me, I have other players, never had to update their software, never had any problems like this.

At some point, one of the DVD's got stuck in the player and would not come out. I had to take the player apart to remove the disc and found a sticky substance on the top of the disk. Don't know how it got there. I had to clean the disk and the part that suctions to the top of the disk. It did it twice more to clean DVDs and now seems to be better after I've cleaned the player and DVD's. Frustrating but not sure I can blame it on the player.

We got this as part of our new video suite exactly one year ago. Great price on a full-featured DVD player, and reviews were good. We’ve been very happy with it, and our satisfaction was one factor in deciding to buy another LG product (which has been very disappointing). This unit has performed exactly as we had hoped, the picture and features are great, and we’re very satisfied with it.

Great player for the money, and pretty dag-gone good picture quality on my big LCD TV. I don't watch too many discs, but lean heavily on the DNLA feature, and watch tons of MKV movies. The interface and menus are a tad clunky, but it just takes a little getting used to. I've fiddled with units three times more expensive that don't produce any better quality picture, and my only gripe is that it doesn't play FLAC files. Aside from that, this machine is a winner, and I highly recommend it!

Love that this unit has DLNA and plays nearly 99% of anything I throw at it. The only thing that would make this even better would be HULU PLUS support.

I have the BD572. Excellent product. My first Blu-Ray disc player, for the price it delivers everything is promises. Set-up is easy and user-friendly, connects to my wireless network and streams Netflix and more with ease. Movies are crystal clear. It is like a mini computer that you can control from the ease of your living room with a remote control.

Sleek design, plays like a dream w/ no problems, love the wireless aspect, and just an overall excellent player. I cannot say enough about it. I just purchased this player and will possibly buy another one in the near future. Thanks LG! Your quality products have made my family happy!

I purchased this to go with the LG TV we purchased. It's amazing! No problems using it. My spouse is "technology impaired" and he quickly learned how to use the remote to access Netflix. The family is very happy with it. When the boys are playing, they can turn their music on through youtube or pandora and are very happy with it. Thank you LG for making a good quality, friendly and easy to use device!

This was my first Blu Ray player and I have not been disappointed. I LOVE the built in media extender and the widgets that allow streaming for all sorts of multimedia through my surround sound. Would not hesitate to buy another one, and will be recommending a more recent model to a friend of mine who is currently wanting to upgrade.

I've had my BD570 for about a year and have been very happy with it. The quality and features are great. I use it for Netflix more than anything else, but BD discs play great of course. I wish it had Amazon Instant Video service, but maybe that'll come someday with a firmware upgrade. Other than that I couldn't be happier.

I bought this blu-ray player when I first got an HD-TV and I have to say I am fairly pleased with it. It seems the updates at times are a little slow and every now and then a disc takes a little longer to load but it plays blu-rays with high quality audio and video. It's pretty easy to use and the internet features are great.

I purchased this Blu-Ray player to compliment my new LG LED T.V. It gets the job done by playing Blu-Ray movies in stunning quality. However, my main issues are: 1) The processing speeds are very slow. 2) The interface is cumbersome and pails in comparison to the interface on my T.V., especially when it comes to controlling Netcast. 3) It does not automatically start your disc where you left off when you hit "Stop." It reloads from the very beginning. The netcast capability on this is redundant and not as good as my TV, I should have paid more for a better quality player without Netcast features or WiFi.

This is my first Blu-Ray player, and it delivers great picture quality and speedy internet streaming. I bought it along with my LG 42-inch HiDef TV and I am thrilled to pieces with them both. My first flat screen TV, and my wife and I are blown away by the picture quality.

This is probably one of the best value for money product. Really easy to use & the wireless service is really cool. Decent apps that are available with the player. If LG can add new apps when they update the software...it will be really helpful.

This BluRay gives great picture, works with Vudu and Netflix reasonably well, but does not work with MLB.TV as advertised. As a leading feature of this product was MLB.TV integration, I expected to be able to watch MLB games on this player but it does not work at all. Therefore, I cannot recommend this player.
