Kinda does the job

Kind of does the job if you can't afford the $10,000 home theater. Have this unit over 10 years now about five years into owning it the dvd drawer would get stuck and act finicky. Finally One Day DVD got wedged in there and the door wouldn't open. Had to pry the drawer open since it was a rental DVD. that really jacked the drawer up and made it useless. Doesn't matter too much nowadays since we have so many streaming services. but every once in awhile the unit also shuts itself off for no reason in the middle of a movie. The remote was even worse, buttons wouldn't press correctly almost right out of the box and got worse to the point where the remote became useless after three or four years . Not the greatest sound in the world but not bad either. Good for movies surround sound 5.1 but music sounds really bad. I'll keep using it because I can't afford a new one. But I think the quality is just not there

Decent system if you don't mind the sound dropping

Got this at the same time I got an LG TV... which died within a couple of years. This sound system works fine most of the time, but here and there gets on a kick where it'll play 15-20 min of sound and then just cut out. If I turn it off and back on, no problem - sound back on... for another 15-20 min.

A top of the line product

I've been using this product for over a month and have enjoyed the ease of use, and the sound quality. The best feature that I liked was the HDMI in and HDMI out. Last but not least is the built in Ipad/Iphone connector, I use it often.

Had problems from the start

Purchased this unit around Thankgiving of 2010, had to take it back the NEXT DAY due to it not being able to play a regular DVD. Over the course of the next 14 months there were several additional times I had to actually take DVD and Blu-Ray discs back to the video store due to the unit flashing "Error" and not being able to play the movie. After 14 months this unit quit playing any DVD or Blu-Ray discs whatsoever and everytime it is turned on the disc tray opens up as if I requested to put a movie in. I have a 47 inch LG flat panel that works well but I am not sure about their other products. Would not recommend at all.

great surround sound for the price

this was my first real home theater purchase and i had looked at alot of them and decided this was the best for what i was willing to spend. didnt take long at all to set up and is really user friendly. i have had it for several months now and really like it. some things i wish it had were the ability to add a powered subwoofer to it because the one included is not much of bass at all. also i wish it had the ability to add apps like tversity to stream music or movies from my computer over the network. other than that i am pleased with the purchase.

Amaaaaaazing

I have owned it for 9 months. My old surround reciever burned up right after I bought my Lg tv. So I researched Lg Surround. I was sold. It has so many features, none you dont want. Ipod right on the front...Bluray is awesome. Plays dvds awesome, looks HD. The fact that the LG's talk to each other is awesome. Turn the tv off, the receiver shuts off. Turn the receiver on, the tv turns on. Put dvd in, and the tv automaticlly changes input. The player, has awesome streaming ability, Pandora is awesome for music, Netflix streams awesome, Hd streaming through Netflix is flawless. The sound and volume is got to be the best I have ever heard. So much power. Enough to bring the neighbors over, a block away. very very happy. Wired vs. Wireless......You will never have a faster connection with wireless. Wired is the fastest connection you can have, to take full advantage of bandwidth, besides its not portable, so why wireless!

Great Sound system

I bought this system a few months ago and it works great with my LG TV. The Blu-Ray player is amazing and it makes regular DVDs look very good as well.

"I have been using my system for a month now, and so far I am enjoying the features and sound quality. This unit worked out of the box and setup was painless. Hope to get many years of enjoyment from this unit. I have installed this unit in a bedroom and the sound quality is awesome. This unit was purchased from buy.com as a refurbished unit. So far so good. I am happy with my purchase.

Great system for a great price!!

Purchased this home theater about 2 weeks ago, for a great price and I absolutely love it. I found it very easy to set up, and even easier to use. I really like the fact that the ipod dock is built in and is not a separate piece. The sound quality is really good, and the internet connect feature is awesome! Buy it, you will be pleasantly surprised.

Awesome starter surround sound system.

Only bad thing is setting up Netflix/Vudu/etc or typing music/artist in for Pandora with the remote.. As Yes it is possible (vice what the previous comment said) to add Netflix videos or Pandora.Sound qualityIt is pretty good, not awesome but it will rock your living room. FeaturesSo that being said, this is a great starter system with a Bluray for under [...] Features of Netflix, Vudu, Pandora as well as the DLNA. The system provides the DLNA server software for free (and $80 value at the time I purchased). Netflix is perfect for the kids and unlimited streaming rentals. Vudu is a rental interface which provides starndard, 720p and 1080p movies streamed to your bluray player. HD only works if you have a really good internet connection, probably 5 Mb/s plus. Pandora is Pandora, great for parties and listening to whatever you want.

Owners Manual

The setup of this system was very easy, but the owners manual does not go into enough detail in the setup settings, on the audio menu and speaker adjustment for setting each speaker level. Also their are other setups that I would like to see more detail for a novice like me.

Great Features, Bad Sound

Netcast Features, HDMI In, 2 Optical, and Blu-Ray....Perfect on paper....But when you get home..unbox and connect equipment and you hear a tea kettle whistle coming out of your speakers and every time you change the cable channel you get a pop coming from the speakers because of the amplifier turning off and on or something it gets real annoying really quickly. As long as i have the volume turned up loud enough to drown out the tea kettle whistle and I don't change the channel so I don't hear the annoying pop everything is fine. But if I listen to it at what i consider a decent bedroom volume (Vol Lvl 6-7, the whistle is very noticeable and that makes the good things it does less valuable.

This Unit is great for the money if you are an audiophile, probably this not fit your needs but is very good for movies, and the entire system is cheaper than only one speaker for an professional audio system

Great Sound, but the hissing is annoying

I think the sound quality on this system is great for a living room. Strong base, and clear background noises on the surround speakers. The ipod dock is great if you own an ipod, unfortunately I do not, and I've yet to find a way to get my Zune to play through this system. (I've tried connecting a usb, and a cable that connects into both headphone jacks. Zune does not register with the LG.). The hissing/whistling sound from the speakers is only noticeable during quiet parts of movies, it's a minor nuscance, but it's not a deal breaker. The Blu-Ray player works great, load times are quick and the picture and sound are superb (Paired with my LED LG tv.). The web features work fine, but I found the user interface on my tv with the same features to be easier to use.

Awesome and Easy

Purchased the LBH335 and purchased an LG Flat Screen TV in July. I have found the installation to be extremely easy and the quality is absolutely ridiculous. I now find that I can no longer watch TV on anything but my LG system. The quality of sound and features from the HTIB are incredible. Just recently I hooked up my system to my home LAN. It was simply to do. My family will now watch Youtube and listen to Pandora from my LG system. LG keep the Netcast features coming...

One of the BEST purchases ever!

I just bought this home theater system (the first of its kind) just over a month ago and continue to be extremely pleased with its everyday use! The only issue I discovered is setting up the distance of the rear speakers to your TV (I called customer service to help in this case) and eventually purchased speaker stands to balance the height of the front and rear speakers. I found directing the the rear speakers on a 45 degree angle toward the TV gave me the best results! I also was surprised upon learning that once I began setting up the system that it also features an AM/FM stereo output (in the Home menu displayed on your TV) once the antennas are hooked up! Something I never expected! Now you can preset your favorite radio stations and hear that awesome stereo surround sound thru the theater speakers! Some of the movies are so intense with surround sound that you feel the need to lower the volume! You cannot be dissappointed with this system!

All-in-one value | poor feature integration

Lots of features packed into a relatively small box compared to my original home theater. Decent price point. Nice to have features - just wish they had gone further. LG didnt incorporate native 802.11n support, which means more wires going into the back of the home theater. Customers shouldnt have to run extra wires or buy an additional switch to run all of their network capable home theater devices. Would have also been nice had they incorporated some sort of DVR / save to external hard drive functionality to this device. Watching .mkv video with subtitles crashes the device. Online features are accessable via a secondary sub-menu. More work should have been done to present the online application experience along with the primary device experience (e.g. one menu, not two). The secondary online feature menu looks really cheezy - and you cannot remove the applications that you dont care about. It's cool that they incoporated local weather status into the menu, but this should have been done at the top level interface and not in a secondary menu against an unprofessional looking cartoon cityscape. The YouTube feature application should have the ability to make your YouTube account your home page, or to remember favorites. Unfortunately every time you want to see a YouTube video you have to search for it through a painful search process. Poor HDMI compatability with our Vizio 55" VF552XVT LCD television - have to power devices on in a specific order, or it wont talk to the television. VERY tempted to return the device for the HDMI experience with the VF552XVT.

Great starter system

I have been using my system for a few months now, and love the variety of features and sound quality. The only complaint I have is the small memory, which has been too small to load BD Live on a single disc so far. Look for a Blue Ray that has a larger built-in memory if you want to use the disc features.

Great sound

I was searching for a bargain home theater unit when I purchased my 58" plasma this summer. I found it with the LHB335. It has great sound and bass. Even without a powered subwoofer, the bass really kicks in during action movies. I also like the Netcast feature. I use it all the time to watch movies/TV shows off Netflix. By using the PLII movie sound effect mode, it simulates Dolby 5.1 sound for the Netflix stereo output and makes my shows sound great!

Great unit

I had to upgrade from an RCA and it was like night and day! This had such a great price for all the options and it's so clear and loud if you want it to be. I recommend this system for anyone who is looking for a great unit with lots of options for a good price.

OK for the price

This is an ok system. It is just a little slow and it has problems playing some dvds. If I turn on the LHB335 and my stand aloan blu-ray player my tv will come to ready and my stand aloan player will come to ready before this can finish booting up. And I have ran into problems playing some dvd movies. It has the current firmware updat.

LHB335 - OK

Plus = Great sound with blue ray DVD, connects to Netflix Negative - No surround sound with regular TV from cablebox Does what I need - but could be better if surround sound happened with regular TV from cablebox.

iPod Dodgy

A good value for money system with good features and network capability. The sound quality is very good. However, I've had nothing but problems with the iPod docking feature - it keeps losing connection and is poorly constructed.

High quality, Low price

By far the best purchase I've made yet for my audio/video needs. I love that there is little difference in quality when compared to top-end brands (audiophiles might notice it, but the average person wont). The internet video streaming is my favorite feature, giving me quick access to my Netflix instant-queue. The only area I'm not rating excellent here is ease of use. The start up time runs a little long, and menu / feature navigation isn't as quick as other brands. Other than those small issues, setup was a breeze and the menu/control layout was very intuitive. Another nice feature is that unlike other home theater systems which use some weird connector for plugging in the speakers, this system uses the regular wire quick connects, allowing me to add or replace the speaker wires with ease if needed.
