overall i have to give this 4 of 5 because i got it used from my ex brother in law because they wanted a newer one and it has severed me well but is now having some issues just because its old and its time to replace it.

All of the HDMI ports are no longer functioning. Wish they were still because the picture is nice.

My TV also had a power problem as other reviewers had said. I seldom watch TV, so probably I was the last person who recognized this TV had a power failure. I found this problem a couple of weeks ago. At first, I didn't think this TV had a power problem cuz I hadn't turned on TV for a long time. Instead, I thought the batteries died in the remote control. Although I changed the batteries and still TV didn't turned on. And then I finally realized it had a problem. The technician visited me and fixed it 3 days later after I called the service center. He fixed it promptly and was very nice. Anyway, I don't want to recommend this product to anyone.

I own this TV for only 16 months. We rarely use it and we got the common "power won't turn on" issue as many other customers had experienced. This looks like a very common failure if you google it. I won't buy any product from LG again.

Originally chose this LED backlit TV expecting it to last longer than the standard backlit models. But as other have remarked, this model is prone to dying because of power supply issues. So, right now I have a dead TV after only 14 months of use. I have owned many others and this is the only one I have that is experiencing this kind of problem. Very bad, KEEP AWAY!!! Save your money and buy something else.

I bought a 37" LG LCD 720p TV back in 2007 and love it. It was time to upgrade and i came upon this TV and bought it for a great price refurbished. Being refurbished, i was a little concerned but have had the TV for a little more that two months and I'm extremely happy with my purchase. The picture is great however I don't notice a big difference in motion blur from my 60 htz 37" television. Sound from just the TV speakers is OK so we tend to use the surround sound more often. The features seem to be a little lacking but it is easy to set up and use! Overall i am very pleased with my 42" Lg TV. Keep up the great work!!

for 363 days my 42 led was fine ,then it had a power failure,had to take it down from the wall drive 60 miles,to get it repaired,still waiting to get it back.this is not the product to buy,nor should you buy any of this companys products!

I don't recommend buying an LG TV. It failed within 3 weeks of the year's warranty. When the repair man came to fix it, he was certain it was the main board. My husband told me it's the power supply because it wouldn't turn on (he's a quality assurance manager in electronics and is a power supply electronics engineer). I was told by the technician that the main board controls power. Strange that the first new board failed. The second one improved the overall picture and sound quality. However, after watching this TV for a few hours, it wouldn't turn on later in the evening. Again I had to request service. And, I was informed that a technician would not be available until four working days later. My daughter told me that her technician friend has two LG TV's; both failed for the original owners, and they are wealthy so they preferred to purchase another one. Uh, we are middle class people and we don't have the money to spare replacing items so quickly!

the picture is great in HD, but non-HD programs do not look good. also, the screen is too bright. if there is a way to adjust it, i havent found it, since when you click 'menu' it only gives you a limited number of options which i have not found useful

i bought this product from best buy and it was simply amazing. the features were great the crystal clear picture was just stunning. I eventually returned the product because the screen just died out and would not turn on anymore but despite that I would recommend to others because you will fall in love with it once you start it up. I was unable to get the same product because they did not have another one but I have a smaller LG and its incredible as well. Please note in the future when I get a new tv I will look forward to attaining an LG product once more.

Truely impressed with my 42inLG ,120 Hz,1080 p Edge-lit LED/LCD High Def TV. I have it mounted to the wall. Its performance is awesome, colors are so brite and vivid. No blurs of any kind so far. Bought my set back in Jan of 2012 and I am totally taken buy it. It does adjust to room light automatically,which is sooo neat. I do use it back and forth with and without the suround sound system I have mounted below the set..when I use the sound system its awesome , floor rumble etc oh yea... ready for football. Also great for family night with a great DVD. I did buy and use quality cables for the Blue ray player and sound system, not sure if this helps or not but I didnt want to have problems in the future so I went all out and had it hooked up properly from the get go to include the wall mount and hiding of the wires with that pvc cover you can buy at the local hard ware store.. then painted the cover to match the wall and presto almost invisable. In summary I love my LG flat screen, my first by the way and now looking into an LG fridge with french doors on top and drawer freezer below with no ice or water in the door thingy.. I dont care for that .. Germy to me. So heck yes I recommend this product 110 % all the way. Sit back and enjoy, cause thats what I do on the weekend with my limited free time.

I have had this TV for 3 months now and it has per- formed exactly has it did on the show room floor. Great picture, ease of use, sharp colors, 120 hz. makes the tracking much better than my sons 60 hz.. He sometimes comes over when certain sporting events our on, especially tennis, because their is no jumping during quick motion The only problem I had for awhile, was that when the background was dark the set would dim, and brighten when the background was bright. This was solved with one quick E-Mail to customer service, by turning off the energy saver function that I wasn't aware existed or did not know it would have any effect on brightness.

Used for our sons's gaming, tv and movies. The graphics are great, contrast very good, the sound adequate and the overall expectations met or exceeded. The size fits well with the room it is used in. Style is great.

I am going to write what i dont like first 1. Picture quality if not as i was expecting. when playing cartoon network i could see the blurry pictures easy to notice. 2. Sound is OK. i had to plug in external speaker to get good quality. but as far as LED tv goes this is common issue. 3. Apps : there are only 4 apps available. i wish there was a way to add more apps using updates. Overall ok. may be worth buying if you dont want to spend big money.

this tv is a pretty good tv minus the horrible audio. The tv is barely audible at 90. My stereo is louder then this tv at its lowest. The quality is not bad but not great. I can see why this was discontinued.

I wish I had read these reviews before. We received this TV as a gift. The first TV lasted only 15 minutes before it stopped working. The 2nd TV lasted less than 2 months. Both times ended up with a black screen. Both times we had been watching a recorded on demand show. Don't know if there is any correlation or just coincidence. Either way, we are returning the non-functioning TV and will get a different one this time. I do not recommend this model. Don't waste your time like we have had to.

Often, what a tv looks like at the store, is not what you see when you get it home. This LG surpassed my picture quality expectations for the close out price. Yes, even the standard audio sounds very decent, even though the total volume capability seems weak. So far after a month's worth of chronic viewing, I'd have to say it's an outstanding value for the limited features (mainly no 3-D, no built in internet or wifi).

I have had this TV less than 2 months and it is not working. The company is sending out a repair tech on Monday but that isn't the point. I should not have to have it repaired when it is less than 2 months old. Very unhappy and would not purchase an LG in the future.

This tv is great for watching movies, mainly blu-ray in my case, but watching anything on it is amazing. The 3 HDMI ports come in very handy for all my media devices, including my laptop. Having a large screen makes it easier for me to complete my work and even helps out alot for playing computer games. I would recommend this for anyone from gamers, movie fans, and even casual viewers.
