I purchased this drive to replace older dvd player in my hp desktop computer. This drive works great and have not tried the M-Disc feature yet. I would recommend this drive to anyone that is looking for a dvd player.

This drive went into "high speed" mode without warning, so fast it detonated the CD being played. After that it had no response to any commands, internal or external. I submitted a warranty claim, was told (from a do not reply address that an email with details on how to return it (on my own dime, btw) would follow. 3 weeks later, no email.

This came with a custom built computer with Win 8 . I upgraded to Win 10, and even thought it says Win 10 compatible it will not recognize a DVD movie or game.

I tried to find a firmware update for a Blu-Ray burner but it is only available for PC. It's hard to believe that LG is still running on a PC only mentality.

After writing a few discs it even doesn't recognize blank discs, the drive hangs up. Writen discs are also not recognized or very rarely. From writing the first disc after each disc the results were worse. I've written 10 discs not at all (DVD+RW, DVD+R, DVD-RAM. This is the WORST drive I ever had. Theres an OEM version of this drive, the GHB0N, that I own too. This drive works find.

Purchased two, only one worked properly. That one does all the right things quickly and efficiently. I would have returned the bung unit, but I had installed it in my daughters new PC I built for her, and she'd had no need to burn a disc until one day, after the warranty had expired, she needed to burn something and found that the ability to burn disc's didn't work. Luckily DVD burners are cheap to buy, but I won't be getting another LG branded unit.

I bought this and installed it no problems. It plays CDs just fine, however, it doesn't recognize DVDs, which is bad for hardware that is supposed to be DVD RW.

The price was good and it worked good until the smoke came out of it. 7 months into a 1 year warranty and LG will not make it good. They said that my computer burned it up. Funny computer is still working. It would be nice if they put some software with it.

As already indicated this burner will NOT work with ConvertXtoDVD using minus blank dvd's. My other LG burner is fine with plus and minus blank discs. It is sold in Australia but not supported by them. Would appreciate a response to the problem by LG.

This drive was very affordable and it was super easy to install and it has caused me no problems. It turned on and worked perfect on the first try. I know that might seem trivial & obvious, but think about how many things in life Don't Work on the first try, Never work like they should or just plain Don't Work. Product works as advertised. No issues reading or burning disks. I subtracted 1 star because it is very loud in comparison to other drives that I have used, but for the price I would still recommend it.

I use Convert X to DVD and as well as a couple similar converting programs. The burn when using DVD -R is very very slow and 50% of the time I get a fail. Same DVD -R in my other DVD burner works fine with quick burn. Both burns set to same burner speed. Using DVD+R it seems to burn normal. I have a hard time blaming the media since it works fine in my other burner. Did a search on this burner and found others are having slow burn issues too. The burner didn't cost much and would cost more in postage to return it then what I paid.
