"Slick Bag"

This bag feels great when you have it slung over your shoulder.

Best Camera bag I've ever owned

I've owned a few bags and none have every really wowed me. This one really did, I always wanted a backpack until I found this one. I like to do a lot of travel photography and this works great. Unlike a backpack you can keep a close eye on your gear and it's descrete. There is lots of space for your gear and it's great as a carryon. I would recommend this to anyone.

LowePro Sling Bag

I would have liked more color choices and side pocket zippers for added security would have been nice. Free shipping was an added bonus.

Super for Run and Gun

I'm a 40 year veteran of TV New's camera work and I have a basement full of tried and failed run bags. The Lowepro Passport Sling bag can be thrown over my shoulder and it will have all my supplies: batteries, microphones- cables, ac power supply and recording media. The bag's shape is perfect for when your in a rush and trying to keep up with any breaking news story. The bags shape makes it possible for me to carry my supplies and my camera and tripod. The bag was designed for still photographers but this bag is fantastic for a tv news cameramen. The Lowepro Passport Sling Case just makes covering TV News a lot easier !

A mixed bag

Compared to more conventionally styled camera shoulder bags, there's not really great use of the available space. I have such a conventional padded camera bag that is able to hold the camera and lens, plus two other small lens, and i've decided to stick with that because this Sling bag couldn't hold all that.

Simple bag for a simple setup on the go

I wanted something simple and relatively compact for shooting on the go - The kind of bag that you could use as an everyday bag (with the additional cargo room), so you're never without a camera. The idea is a great one. Its only shortcoming (for me) is that it's just a bit too small. You can fit a smallish DSLR (D90) with a prime lens or a kit zoom, but don't think you'll get a D600/800 with a 24-70 2.8 attached in there without stressing the seams. The "side" space is great for an extra flash and a few personal items, but it's not going to replace a grocery bag. Overall, I like the design. I am getting use out of it when I don't need to bring much along. If it were an inch deeper, it'd probably be my everyday bag.

versatile!

Although this bag cannot be used for more than a camera and one lens, it is useful for many things. I use it everyday to carry stuff rather than a purse.

Versatile Bag with some Limitation

The Passport Sling is a camera bag that does not look like a camera bag. The Passport Sling has become my go to camera bag when sightseeing or traveling after I made some modifications. I now comfortably take my DSLR everywhere using this bag which also doubles as my purse. Pros: 1. Does not look like a camera bag2. Roomy especially with expansion option3. Comfortable even with a heavier load4. Provides some water protection against heavy rain5. Overall versatile bagCons: 1. No dividers in cargo area of the bag2. Nylon strap caused piling on shirt3. Padded area can be tight fit for camera and lens4. Outside stash pockets are not secureThe Sling does not look like a camera bag. This bag is a utility bag. I am easily able to carry my camera and also use it as a purse for my wallet and phone. The cargo area is roomy. I can stash a book and change of clothes in the expansion compartment for overnight trips. However, there are no dividers in the expansion compartment; therefore, I have to search to find stuff. I would much rather search in exchange for the extra room. There are two small Velcro pockets on the inside of the bag that I use to hold my ID and a set of keys. Nothing bigger would likely fit in these pockets. Also, the dual zipper opening allowed for quick access to the interior of the bag.I currently have a Nikon D200. With the body and attached lens, the camera is a tight fit for the padded sleeve. I attempted to place a second lens into the padded sleeve, but I had difficulty closing the bag. The bag was able to hold my camera and flash comfortably. However, I have a separate padded sleeve for my lens and was able to put the extra lens in the storage/back portion of the bag. The side of the padded case does have a small Velcro pocket to hold my extra CF card. If you are looking to use the provided padded case only to hold your camera, it may be a tight fit. However, if intend to use the entire bag for camera and lenses, it will have room for several lenses and flashes. I would recommend using additional padding to protect your equipment. The nylon strap for the bag caused piling on my shirt where the strap rubbed against my shirt. Unfortunately it damages any shirt (both nylon and cotton) I wear when carrying the bag. I remedied this by creating a sleeve for the nylon strap. The bag was comfortable even when loaded down. I really did not notice a difference when using the padded strap. The buckle did not slip even when the bag was loaded down. I was able to carry the bag comfortably for more than 12 hours of walking and sightseeing. I am under five feet tall, and the bag did not seem overly large for my size. Also, the optional expansion area could be zippered closed when I needed a slightly smaller bag. The stash pockets on the outside are not secured. I worried about any items I put in the outer stash pockets falling out. I ended up adding Velcro to secure these outer pockets to make the more useable for my purposes. The water bottle pocket was handy for easy access but was a tight fit when the camera was in the bag. I unfortunately was able to test out the water resistance of the bag in a monsoon torrential downpour. I looked like I had jumped into a swimming pool. For the most part, the bag and zipper held most of the water out. When I pulled my camera out it was dry; however, my book had water along the edge of the pages. I would recommend using additional waterproofing if you are going to be in very wet conditions. I was surprised the bag protected as well as it did in the conditions I was in. This bag is very versatile once I understood its limitation. I can remove the padded camera holder and use the bag to carry items from the grocery store, if needed. I am able to carry both my camera and normal purse items as carry-on while flying. It easily fits under the seat. The Passport Sling has become my go-to bag both as a camera bag and purse, and I find I am bringing my DSLR with me more. So far, the bag has held up to daily usage. The bag does have its flaws, but I am glad I finally found a bag that I am comfortable using daily.

My favorite camera bag EVER

Especially on holiday, I want to have my camera and have it protected, but not have to haul my serious camera bag to restaurants, markets and museums. This is IDEAL. It's the perfect size for just a few lenses and your camera (though, one day I fit 3 lenses and 2 Nikon bodies along with 2 bottles of water!). Love the Mica color from a purely aesthetic point of view. Also, isn't immediately obvious as a camera bag so it's a little more discreet when you travel. Really comfortable and light.

Surprisingly roomy

This is a great bag, with the advantage of not looking so obviously like a camera bag. Some reviews felt it was too small. That's a matter of perspective, but it holds exactly as much as my Lowepro sling bag - it just doesn't have all the adjustable inner compartments. For the money, it's a good bag.

Nice bag for basic equipment

The bag is nice and does not look like a camera bag. Though after watching the video about how hard lowepro worked to create this bag, I wonder why they did not add a couple other things. I put velcro on 2 of the outside pockets (not the water bottle one) and a sewed a loop and hook inside for keys or small wallet with attachment. My 60D with a small lens and another small lens will fit in the padded area. If I want my 70-200 I need to put it in its case and put in the the non padded area. I can add my 10" tablet if I unhook the velcro from one side of padded unit and unzip to make the bag larger. If it was one to two inches higher and an inch wider, it would be perfect.

Clandestine camera hideout

If you want to haul your $2000 digital camera through neighborhoods or airports with questionable security then you don't want to advertise that fact. If you are feeling me then I'm sure that you'll agree that this "body camera bag" disquises its contents very well. Add to that fact that the strap is comfortable and that the padded protection box inside as well as the bag fold flat for transport then you will see what a diamond in the ruff this little bag really is.

Nice bag

Very sturdy, nice bag - fitting the DSLR camera in is just a bit tricky but overall the padding is good. Nice to have the expansion space for either an extra lens or a flash unit, however I'd like a bit more room. The bag looks great and the strap is comfortable.

Lowepro Passport Sling Case

I like it and use it alot. The only time a have not used it is when traveling with my larger 5000mm lens. Normal lenses (2) and a flash is no problem.

Great Casual Bag

I bought this bag for a trip to Europe. Needed something lightweight, compact and easy to carry that would protect my equipment. I carried my T3i and two lenses (55 & 300mm) with no problem. The expandable feature on the bag was great; I could open it for larger bag capacity when shopping for small souvenirs. This bag is very durable, water resistant and even sort of chic looking. I loved that the strap was wide, comfortable and allowed me wear it in a cross-body style to prevent from slipping from my shoulder. It was great in tight spaces like shops where I didn't want to bump into things. Just be aware that the interior carry space is limited, even with the expansion capability.

Nice bag

This is a nice bag for day-to-day use. I carry my camera at all times, as you never know when there will be a good photo op. However, if I were going on a planned shoot and thought I might need more gear, I would carry a larger case. This bag is very attractive and does not look like a camera bag, which makes it especially nice.

Roomy

This was purchased only for traveling or event photography where only the essentials are needed. I am very pleased with extra room and with the zipper gusset for personal stuff such as purchased items and wallet.

Great Dual purpose Bag

I like to take my camera everywhere but did not like carrying two bags . This works perfect. I can get my camera gear in the bag plus my personal necessities and I am off. The camera is well protected and the bag looks good for an everyday purse. So far I have used it that way and love it. Nice, usable outside pockets and a couple of small but useful secured inside pockets. The color is nice too...I got the mica and find it to be a very neutral color that works with anything. It won't hold a "lot" of extra camera gear, but takes my 50D and EF-S 17-55 lens perfectly in the padded box and secures it. I then add a Canon S95 and my personal stuff. The extra zip out side works great when I want to take along another lens or flash.

Not that great.

It doesn't look like a camera bag but is poorly designed for cameras. only one padded area. Exterior pockets can't be secured. Doesn't sit right when worn.

Love this bag!

I was looking for a bag to carry every day (a purse). I had the Lowepro Lynx, but they do not make it anymore (went through 2 of them over several yrs.) This one is a nice substitute. I do carry my camera all the time, not DSLR but not small point & shoot. This works out great.

Designed for Handy Access

This good only for a small DSLR camera with one small additional lens and a flashgun. There is room for personal things but that is not protected from bumps and bangs... The best use would be for traveling and do not want to carry all of your gear.

Great for travel & everyday walk around

I choose the Lowepro Passport Sling based on extensive research for an everyday walk around bag for my K-5 with the 16mm-50mm zoom attached. The best aspects of this bag: it does not look like a camera bag, it holds more then it appears to hold with the added zip-out extension, the shoulder pad works well for all day carrying, easy access to your camera is a big plus. The not so good aspects of this bag: padded insert is limiting; measure your walk around equipment before you decide on this bag, outside pockets do not zip for security. I used bag on a month long trip to Europe, carried it all day with above mentioned DSLR plus lots of person items and was very pleased with it.

Nice Bag

I really like the bag. I use it in travel and I can carry a smaller zoom lens as a change out lens. I wish at least one of the outside pockets had a flap to protect your other items, phone, keys. I did not have anything that fell out of the pockets but just a preference I have.

Nice Lightweight Comfortable Bag

In search of relatively small, lightweight bag to use when I only need my camera with one lens, I saw this and ordered it and it serves that purpose. I don't take an additional lens unless it fits within the padded area. The expanded zipper area is a great feature. Like others have commented, I'd like this bag even more if the outer pockets had velcro. Overall, very happy with this bag.

Very happy with this bag

This is a GREAT travel bag, since it doesn't look like a camera bag. Holds my Nikon D300 and 18-200 lens with hood. Kind of tight fit. Had to remove divider in padded box to make room. Bottom of box is padded--so good protection for camera. Plenty of room in rest of bag for filters, lens pen, battery, CF cards, etc. Only two small Velcro pockets inside, so you'll need to fish around inside. Expansion zipper is genius. Can fit plenty of other stuff--such as a light sweatshirt, a book, snacks, etc. Wide strap is comfortable. Outside pockets lack closures, so either add Velcro, or don't put valuables in them. Really happy with purchase. Will use whenever traveling. Nice job, Lowepro!

Perfect Hiking Bag!

This bag is excellent and I would reccomend it to photographers who don't carry much gear with them. If you like to tote all of your lenses, flash, ect with you then you'll need a bigger bag. I can comfortably fit my nikon D70 with about 3 lenses in this bag. I've worn it for 4+ hours at a time and it was super comfortable!

Designed for Handy Access

Needed this bag mostly for events and travel but not big enough for all of the camera accessories. Love the fact that the bag is expandable and that I can safely carry my wallet and a rain shell in the same bag. The shoulder strap is adjustable and comfortable at many lengths. Overall this is the perfect bag for my needs.

Great Bag

I bought this bag for a trip to Ireland and needed a bag that works for a combination camera bag/purse. The strap on this bag is wide and can be slung cross-body to avoid heavy weight on the shoulder. I plan to carry it all day and can easily enlarge one end of the bag to make more room for items I may add during the day. It's just what I needed. On the 'con' side, wish the outer side pockets had a security flap or velcro closure to keep things from slipping out.

Perfect!

I am always looking for the perfect bag, especially for every day use, and I found it! I couldn't want anything else. I use this every day, it holds all my personal belongings that I need to take with me everywhere and my camera with 1 lens attached and another lens, I can also fit a 3rd small 55 mm lens in there too.
