I purchased this to use with my Technical Belt. I am overweight, and the belt continually slipped down over by belly. My initial thought was to use suspenders to hold the belt up, and then I found the Lowepro Harness. It basically acts like suspenders, but does so with a professional look. In that respect it does a wonderful job while helping to spread the weight of the items in your Technical belt. I have attached a Black Rapid pouch to hold me smart phone. The reason I did not give it 5 stars was because it did not come with any assembly instructions or information as to what a couple of accessories are for. After calling Lowepro (1 800 800 5693), I found out that the shoulder loops with snap fasteners are to keep your camera strap secure when it is hanging on your shoulder. There is also an accessory that is U shaped and attaches to the top back of the harness with a clasp. This is used to hold the handle of a back pack. There are also two side straps that are also used to help carry a back pack. According to Lowepro, most people remove these and don't ever use them.

I like everything about it except for the plastic clips that the shoulder harness attaches to the waist belts with. I'm sure they will break at some point and then I'll just sew on some d-ring clips and be done with it. Not sure it that would be a belt issue or a shoulder harness issue....

Have used the standard Lowepro harness for 3 years. The Technical S&F harness fits me, a smaller than average person, much better.

Without this harness you can't load the belt with very much gear or the belt will constantly pull your pants down. Much more comfortable than a photo vest because a lot of the weight is on your waist instead of your shoulders. When everything is assembled, the whole package is a bit clumsy to handle. Need a big case to dump everything in. Much cooler option than a photo vest.

The S&F Technical Harness is ideal for a photojournalist or photographer who needs go light and move fast when covering an event. This lightweight, supportive and flexible design helps to lessen the load when worn with Lowepro S&F Light Utility Belt or S&F Deluxe Technical Belt (both sold separately).
Top-drawer features include: a lapel strap keeper that secures your camera strap via sturdy straps, SlipLock attachment loops for expanding carrying capacity (add a S&F Phone Case 20 to have a smartphone close at hand) and a sternum strap with a built-in safety whistle. Its detachable handle cup and restraint straps turn an additional Lowepro shoulder bag such as the Classified AW or Magnum AW into a convenient backpack, allowing the photographer to carry even more gear. MUST BE WORN WITH Technical belt or light utility belt
