AWESOME... but...

I had a barn wedding/reception finally where I could use this. Barns are the most challenging for light. This thing was fantastic. I had the one that didn't have the doors at the top and liked that, but this is way better!! Also the fact that you can mount it sideways. On the down-side... (as w/ the other Lumi products I have), the velcro comes up EASILY (the parts that are 'glued on'). So, I had to remove the velcro that came with the product and replace with my own that had more surface area for the adhesive rather than little round dots of velcro. I have two of these, one for each camera and they are ALWAYS in my bag... they fill that gap where there are no good bounce surfaces. I also use for real estate where I bounce, but also throw a little extra forward to fill to the other side of the room.

Velcro love-hate. Good lighting. Awkward looking.

This works great if you learn to position it perfectly... While velcro is handy to add and remove, it can be challenging to get this perfectly straight and angle where you want it. Wish there was a quick change method without velcro. Overall, good product and quality. Esthetically ackward but good results. Nothing like it though. A good value.

Excellent diffuser

About the only disadvantage is that you have to add Velcro strips to the flash head to allow attachment of the Quik Bounce. That prevents using some other types of diffusers that fit over the head. Otherwise I can't say enough good things. It provides a very even spread of light, and is especially good for outdoor portraits, requiring less post-processing. I have also used it when copying artwork, where it did such a good job that I needed only one flash. I have not tried it for other applications but believe it would work well for sports and wildlife too if close enough.

The most versatile bounce ever

The most versatile bounce ever; since you can open the barndoors on top and bounce off the ceilings and have 20% of the flash going forward as a fill light. If no ceiling is available or if the ceiling is just to high; you can close the barndoors on top of bounce and still have softer light rather than direct flash which separates the pro shoots from the deer in the headlight shots and is much more flattering to the subject being photographed.

Fantastic followup to the 80/20

I have owned and used the Lumiquest 80/20 for years and always struggled with taking vertical images while using the 80/20. This new version really is versatile, vertical or horizontal. Attaches easily, and folds flat. Velcor on 'window' works well, and easy manipulate open or closed with one hand. Great product for external flash!

Must have for any event photographer

Weddings Portraits Events It fills background and foreground in the entire scene where as direct flash gives a "cave effect". The doors are a bit flimsy but nothing a lil duct tape can fix

Great for Event Photography

I needed something effective that was light and versatile for taking indoor event photography, and this fits the bill. Quik Bounce attaches quickly to my Nikon SB800. Included are Velcro tabs you can tape to flash, but I use velcro strap sold separately, since it seems more secure. It was ready for horizontal and vertical shots, and bouncing off low ceiling (when available) or not. Getting flash a bit off hotshoe could help avoid lens shadow when zooming, but I didn't have my bracket with me, and it was a rare problem to work around. (Used it once so far in event-type conditions.) Nice "all-in-one" solution when using flash gun for events, especially if you're shooting solo.

• Designed for use with or without a ceiling to soften the light.

• Enables photographer to transition from horizontal to vertical format effortlessly without having to adjust the Quik Bounce on theflash.

• Unique design has doors that can be opened to allow 80% ceiling bounce while allowing 20% of the lights to bounce off the remaining surface area to provide fill light.

• When there is no ceiling to bounce the light (or the ceiling is too high or colored) the doors would remain closed and 100% of the light would bounce off this surface area.

• Soften shadows and reduces red eye.

• Ideal for event and wedding photographers.
