I've used this a couple times to help accentuate details on a subject and it has worked without fail. Great product.

Well made and durable, but the flaps are too big for the snoot to fit on the Nikon SB-600 or SB-800. So instead, I use it on an off brand flash with a large head that can accommodate the design of the snoot. Not what I had in mind, but not a total waste.

The main thing is that it doesn't fit Nikon speedlights very well at all. The flaps used to attach it to the flash are to big and at best are awkward to use. For a company that charges a lot for it's products, you would think they would have put a little more thought into this product.

I use the "Snoot" when I'm photographing birds and need concentrated fill light. The "Snoot" boosts flash output and has helped bring out details on birds up to 60 ft distance. It has been helpful to obtain images of birds for ID and for 'record' images even on dark, low contrast, heavily overcast days. I like its light weight, and folding design, as it fits nicely into my belt pouch. I even bought the velcro strap accessory which makes it easier to attach the snoot to my flash (no permanent gluing of strips to the flash is nice as well). Can't think of anything bad to say about the product.

It does not fit well on Nikon flashes. It is not easy to aim and can go out of aim easy.

Wireless flash allows you to move your flash anywhere. Try moving it behind your subject for dynamic, creative results.
The Snoot isolates the light to a very specific area. Automatic operation may be affected as illuminated area is limited. Bracketing and/or testing is recommended.
Application: To illuminate a specific area of a scene with little or no effect on the surrounding area.
