Very Good Diffuser

Pros: 1- It's made from some very good material which makes it very sturdy when it's mounted on your flash. 2- The amount of diffusion it makes is very good for the size, much much better than a flash alone or with small diffusers. 3- Foldable and lightweight, can be easily carried in almost any bag, 9" X 8" space required. 4- Won't take more than 5 seconds to set it up or take it of the flash. Cons: 1- The soft box attaches to speedlight by velcro adhesive tape!! which means your flash will ...

Cons: 1- The soft box attaches to speedlight by velcro adhesive tape!! which means your flash will permanently have Velcro pads all over it. Well some people don't mind it, but i would have preferred if it could be attached using something removable like a special ring or something, cause when it's off flash it really makes the speedlight looks funny and not professional. But again the Velcro is what makes it very easy and fast to set it up and remove it. 2- It's not very difficult to set it up but the provided manual was a useless piece of paper.

Maybe yes, maybe no

The softbox isn't easy to attach, and a user would do well to have three hands to try it. A bit more Velcro would be nice.

Changed the way I used my flash

By

I have been searching for a way to further utilize my single flash system and this has helped reshape the way I consider light in many situations. Very helpful and produces great results.

Works well for close ups

By

from Tempe, AZ  -  Semi-pro Photographer

This is a product that goes with me everywhere I go. It fits nicely inside my Domke Satchel camera bag's side pocket and really does a nice job of softening the light for on location portraits. I always use it off camera, usually with someone holding the flash or mounted on a stand. I don't recommend this light for anything more than headshots for one or two people, unless you just want to add a little fill light. The accessory I HIGHLY recommend to go with this softbox is the LumiQuest Ultra Strap. It will make attaching this softbox much easier.

Great for small lighting jobs!

By

from Columbia, MD  -  Casual Photographer

This is a great product for small head shots or jobs where you want to control spill. There is a small amount of light that comes out the velcro part of it which should be watched out for. The construction is good but it seems like a few years of use might begin to wear at the seams. I have used this plenty of times on smaller jobs with great results!

Lumiquest 8 x 9

By

from Texarkana, Texas  -  Pro Photographer

Bought this after seeing Joe Mcnally on the Flashbus tour. It took a little getting used to, and remembering it in the bag when out and about. I don't find myself using it a lot in studio, primarily due to using strobes, but I do like having it when on location.

I love the size

By

Works great. caution like the company states it can disrupt the camera infared sensor if mounted on the camera. I got around this by tilting the flash-head up one click to clear the sensor. sometimes you may have to adjust the zoom a little also why focusing. other than that it works great. also don't forget to power up the flash because you will lose 1 f/stop shooting through the material.
