This is an excellent charger for AA and AAA NiMH batteries. It is fast, turns off automatically when the batteries are charged so that the batteries are cool. It has an internal fan that does make some noise.

I use these batteries in everything from my Canon point and shoot to my wireless keyboard and mouse to my TV remotes and Xbox 360 and Nintendo controllers. I've been using them a couple of years now and they still hold a good charge. They saved me a bundle on keeping my gadgets running and I'm not dumping batteries into a landfill every month. Much cheaper than the name brand ones [...] too! Highly Recommend!
