Met my needs big time.

I bought this stand to support an Interfit EXD 200 monolight with a snoot, to be used for hairlights. It was sturdier, extended taller & longer than Intefit's own boom stand (sku: PABAS), and it cost only a few dollars more. And, unlike Intefit's own boom stand, the Adorama stand included a counterweight bag than could be filled with sand or other ballast. For light-to-medium use, I think that the Adorama boom stand (sku: LTBAK) is a good value. It has worked reliably for me for several months.

Worst product Ever purchased from Adoram

I just unpacked my stand and pieces are coming off. I read the reviews first, are you kidding me. This is horrible! Cheesy plastic, I can't believe I trashed my other one before getting mistake. Oh, it's going back!!!!!!

Not bad for the price

from Sheboygan, WI  -  Photo Enthusiast

I ordered this Jan 6th 2015, I was finally able to use it Feb 5th. The reason it took so long to be able to use, was it came with a stripped turn knob. I e-mail them and they were able to send me a new one. I just with there was a way to keep the pole from turning. When you have a flash and umbrella or softbox, it wants to point straight down. Also when I have some free time I need to take the carrying case to a seamstress, as the stitching is letting go after being opened twice.

Good product

from CA  -  Hobbyist

The stand is very sturdy, I like how the bottom bracket is adjustable for extra balance. Very pleased with the quality and price ratio. I'm using it with Westcott's Orb and Nikon SB-910. The counter weight bag could be more useful if it doesn't have divider in the middle. I can't put sands in plastic bags in those partitions. If it didn't have the divider, I can put sands in a ziplock bag and insert it. Probably it was designed for lead bricks instead. I ended up using something else with a bungee cord to counter balance.

Great value

from Campbell, CA  -  Advanced Hobbyist

The description lacks important point: the boom can be used as a part of the stand for extra height or as, well, boom. In the latter case the stand is not that tall. Enough for an overhead light for a full body portrait. Decent built quality.

from Georgia  -  Professional Artist

This is my first boom stand. I was very surprised that it is air cushioned for this price. It's perfect for a hair light.

from plattsburgh ny

A sturdy stand that does not coat an arm or a leg.

Nice product - good price

from newton, ma  -  Professional Artist

I take this on location - easy to set up and strike. Well built, not too heavy to pack up and take along if you have a location near your parking area.

Very Impressed!

from Ottawa, Ontario  -  Photo Enthusiast

Amazed at the value for the money with this product. Sure, it's not "pro-grade" but for my hobby home studio this is more than solid enough. It holds my Flashpoint mono-lights with ease. Including the counter weight bag was a nice touch. I will buy another in the future.

Very pleased

from Cleveland, Ohio  -  Semi-pro Photographer

Stronger than I anticipated. Very glad I bought the stand and boom as a unit rather than just a boom.

Boom arm stand

from Boulder, CO  -  Pro Photographer

The stand is very nice for the money. I really wish it had wheels and a better counter weight, but that one was much more expensive.

Questions about this item:

Shopper  Why Did You Choose This?
MATTHEW W  Love this boom. Great construction. It has made my portrait sessions MUCH easier, safer and creative.
terriss b  is this boom and stand sturdy enough to hold my Flashpoint 620m strobe with 21" beauty dish?
JOHN R  Good evening, terriss b. The Flashpoint light itself is 4.5 lbs., and the beauty dish is presumably about one pound, so this Adorama Boom Arm with Weight Bag & Light Stand should hold that much weight. The Tech Specs for the Boom Arm show a Maximum Load Capacity of 4 lbs., but with use of the Weight Bag you probably could use this stand. John R John 3:16
Francis B  Is this boom stand air cushioned?
Francis B  I seemed to been getting mixed answers so I wanted to clarify whether its air cushioned, spring cushioned or no cushion at all?
