This lighting set turned out much better than i was expecting, i was only getting it for 1 occasion and i was trying to find the least expensive lighting i could get for my project,i did not have an account for this so because it was for the Church i funded it out of my pocket. These lights and boxes worked so well,i have decided to use them on other projects that will have a budget, due to the fact that this was last minute decision, I did not have time to waste I had to get this product right away thanks to the excellence of Adorama shipping dept. my order came right on time. Thank You Adorama for making my project a Success. Clifton Anderson

We have some basic product photography needs and these lights give us enough light and ease of use for our space. Setup is simple and the carry case is helpful. Just wish the bulbs were brighter, we're thinking of finding brighter replacements.

I ordered those as part of my first and inexpensive studio set for home use. the set up was easy and the results are great. I have a few flashes at the house and thought I could get a way with those but this lights are better since u can see what the image will look like before you take the shot.

The "cage" that fits around the Iight socket was very hard to press down and was painful to my arthritic hands.

I bought this kit to photograph work for my design portfolio, and the occasional clothing portrait shot. All things considered, it's more than adequate for my needs. The build quality is solid enough for light studio work. Although, I don't have high expectations for the longevity of the soft boxes. Don't expect too much from the kit and you won't be disappointed.

About what I expected for the price -- stands are a tad flimsy and would probably be steadier with the addition of a sandbag/weight on the bottom. Lights stayed relatively cool and bright through 7+ hours of shooting. I removed the softbox covers for a brighter look which worked well. I'd recommend the kit for anyone who needs inexpensive lighting for occasional studio or auxiliary lighting. Carrying case is great and easy to transport.

I have used these lights for indoor portrait work a couple times now. Overall I was very pleased with the results. They probably aren't the brightest lights, but I found them workable when using a wide aperture (f/3.5) and fairly slow shutter speed (1/80 sec). The lights pack fairly easily into the included bag. Setting the up and taking them down is not hard, but a little bit time consuming. If you're getting ready for a scheduled shoot, give yourself a little time to put them together before the client arrives. The soft boxes open by pressing a center ring down around the light socket. The first couple time I did this, I was afraid the ribs of the boxes would break. It seems to work a little smoother now. They're not particularly high quality.

Great product for the price point. Does the job well. I have already used this in 3 portrait sessions and it performs great for what I needed. One of the bulbs came not working but Adorama sent me a replacement right away. I would highly recomend this to someone who wants to get into studio lighting.

I've been using this softbox kit for about two months now and find it to be an invaluable addition to my light kit. For the pricepoint, I don't expect it to last forever, but as long as you treat the equipment right, it'll treat you right. Highly recommended if you're on a budget and looking for your first softbox kit!

Frankly, better than I expected at the price. Everything works as advertised. Some of the stress points use a fair amount of plastic. However, beyond occasional assembly and disassembly, they'll just sit, on or off. It will be nice to have a source of a lot of light for product shots without worry about something burning through softbox fabric.

If you never touched teh product, kept in on one place, it would still fall apart. Basically, you get wht you pay for, and with this, you don't pay a lot, so...

Really nice soft light, should change to larger, 85watt bulbs for more output. Real 5000K cold light source. Good for products and artwork and artifacts.

These just don't put out enough light. Spring for a couple of small monolights and modifiers. You'll be much happier.

We photograph wigs and hairpieces for inclusion in our web site. This kit is just what we need. Only negative is the cost of the lamps - we wanted to buy three color temperatures, but had to settle for one. That is serving us well.

this is the best kit i've seen compared to items on [@] etc. simple to set up, simple to use. took me approximately 2 min to set up and breakdown, including attaching the softbox covers. the air cushioned stands are the best. i would totally recommend this to anyone on a budget like myself or just starting out.

I was asked if this would work outside for portraits and I can't answer that. I use the lights to shoot my sculptures for publication. They work great in my studio. I have never repacked them in the case after moving to my studio across town! If you do need a case,it is a good one. It is very easy to pack and carry. I bought a set of incancescent studio lights for over $100 fifteen years ago and have been struggling with them since. My only regret is that I waited so long to get these.

I'm working at improving the photography skills and having options as a photographer. This will be my portable lighting solution. I've used these lights to take some pictures of rooms in a house for sale. I was pleased with the results. The only down-side so far was that I managed to break one of the bulbs. My fault and not some defect in the product.

Frustrated with light boxes and tired of making my own (so easy to make one with a cardboard box and t-shirt material - look it up!) I needed something mobile and convenient to set up, mostly for food photography. This arrived right before a shoot - I was able to set up and capture the dishes before they went to tables. The stands are a bit flimsy, but once you have them set up, they stay in place well. Power cords are short, and light is not adjustable. It's on or off. But close enough that I could adjust in post-processing. Carrying bag is great. I haven't used these yet for portraits yet, but look forward to doing so. Great value for what you get.

I would definetely recommend this product to anyone. It serves the purpose. Best part about installing the set is, you don't need any instructions at all..

This set works well for a studio, such as product photography. For the cost, it is well made. The light is reasonably uniform. The only problem I noticed is an occasional noise from one of the lamps. I think it is a faulty switch, but I would still give it 4 stars. I was able to compare to a very similar lightning system from LS Studio (similar to Julius Studio) that I purchased on [@]. The Adorama product is slightly more expensive and better built, and the outer softbox material is different (something like nylon vs. vinyl). I would prefer Adorama.

I used this to shoot a friends wedding last October. Easy set up portable and lightweight. No harsh light everyone got their pose on! Some maybe critical of the output of power but any seasoned photographer as myself has done more with less. Wasn't an issue for me. The bride love the final product and as we all know 'A happy wife make for a happy life."

I've used it once so far. Light intensity from one lamp, is plenty for a small studio.

A Great Solution
By Birdo N.
I am a dollmaker learning to use my digital SLR to take quality photos of my work. When I realized I needed a better lighting solution I was overwhelmed by the plethora of options and daunting prices until I came across the Adorama Two Light Softbox kit with everything I needed AND a handy carrying case which fits tidily into my already overcrowded work space. And for such an affordable price. Everything assembled easily and worked nicely and I am set for years to come.
Perfect!
