ROBERT H : Will other softboxes fit on these units?TIFFANY B : No, but if you really wanted to, I suppose you could rig something. As they come though, they are not designed for other softboxes.ARMANDO R : No. the softboxes that come with this kit attach directly to the lamp-head. They don't use a speedring like other light systems including Flashpoint monolights.ANDREW R : Unfortunately no, it is unlikely that other softboxes will fit these light units.
Shopper : i want to build a small studio - i will be mostly photographing one or two models - whats the best lighting to get soft glamour shots - is it flourescent - led - flash - halogen etc with what attachments - i dont have a big budget but do want to get the best shots with the best lighting ? tonyRICHARD T : I use flash and hot lights, flash is the best, but if you want to shoot video and still's at the same time use hot lights. some good hot lights are Smith Victor 720-SG 1000W get 2 Smith Victor 720-SG 1000W a big umbrella and med soft box that can take the heat, and a impact D1000 1,000W AC Dimmer. one or two Smith-Victor 700SG 600 Watt Quartz Light for a hair light. then you can shoot video and stills a flash set up will run much more $$PAT T : I would definitely suggest flash strobes. With umbrellas or softboxes attached to them, you can achieve a much softer look than you could with halogen or other form of continuous lighting. Many people use one light only to get started, but two work much better and allow you to achieve more varied effects on your subject. You can either purchase the larger flash heads, or you could start with the flashes which attach to the camera, such as a canon 580ex, but my recommendation for studio work would be the larger flash heads. Shopper : What is the maximum wattage fluorescent bulb unit can take?ANDREW R : Maximum wattage is not specified, however it is not recommended for use with bulbs which exceed 60W.

So so...

We wanted to add some dynamics to our studio flashes and pop in some daylight balanced lighting. While the quality of the light itself is great, the mounts were not. Within one week I had to clamp the tripod mount to the stud to keep it together. Definitely cannot stand up to daily use in a studio.

Good light source for home studio

My lights arrived with one small broken part which was easily super-glued back together. The variable brightness on each light (5 switches per fixture) make it easy to balance your main light and your fill light. The lights must be totally disassembled to fit into the carrying case, so plan on having a fair amount of set up time.

Very good

Hi, I bought this lamps, and they are totaly fine, but one piece of one of the tripods was broken when I opened it. My father is a dentist, so he fixed it with acrylic. As a coment, be carefull when you tighten the knobs of the tripod, because I think that is way these piece was broken.
