great set up!

Very nice product... the black layer slips off very easily (do not have to cut it off as other review stated)... light enough to pack out somewhere, works with canon flash, overall a great buy for the $

Great amateur starter set.

from Central Illinois  -  Casual Photographer

All you need is to provide the speedlites. This is a great starter set if you currently have nothing for external flash ability. Though I only have 1 speed lite right now this works well and provides for future expansion. The stands are light and relatively flimsy, but with some counter weights and care they will last. the Umbrellas are nice and the black cover is removable with extreme ease. Is this a professional item? absolutely not, but for the amateur as myself, worth every penny and would definitely purchase it again.

great deal for great product

from albany, ca  -  Photo Enthusiast

This product allow me to broaden my photography horizon into studio photography without having to pay huge amount of money which could be used for other things like better speedlites. It feels a little flimsy but I guess I got what I paid for

Great quality for the money

from Kingman, AZ  -  Photo Enthusiast

Wanted something cheapish to try out for my first light setup, this is pretty well built for the money. The stands don't seem too cheap, and work fine for indoors, I tried them outside in a little bit of wind, and with large rocks weighing them down and they still wanted to topple over. Maybe next time ill get some wider ones. But other then that can't complain

Nice price, nicer product.

from Philadelphia, PA  -  Semi-pro Photographer

I got this flash set for a series of wedding shoots I had set up, I was very pleased when I saw the quality of the brackets. They are both sturdy and light weight, which was key, when I had to pack them for a series of shots in the woods. I would recommend them to anyone who is looking for a nice set and dosent want to break the bank. All in all a good buy.

Great kit for off-camera flash

from Illinois  -  Photo Enthusiast

I use this kit with a couple of cheap flash triggers and some Nikon flashes. At around $50 it's probably the most affordable way to get into off-camera lighting. Nothing is super durable, but it all works well. The only problem I've had so far is a broken latch on one of the light stands; it's still usable though. I highly recommend this for aspiring portrait photographers.

I would buy this product again

from Grand Prairie, Texas  -  Photography Student

I will use this product as an additional light setup with my sb910 Speed Light for Portraits. It was very easy to setup and in no time I was up and functional without any hassle. The product performed as I had hoped it would. Importance as a Photography Student on a budget it didn't break the bank. It produced the desired lighting results that I wanted. All in all I gave the product a good rating.

best price ever

from Chattanooga, TN  -  Pro Photographer

Best value for 2 stands & 2 umbrellas & 2 flash brackets. Usually umbrellas are $12 separately & the flash brackets are at least $25. So this set is a great value. The stands are perfect for a flash. They won't be sturdy enough for bigger lights though. There's not too much to say about umbrellas - they work just fine :)

from Longisland ny

I had purchased this for my boyfriend (who is a photographer) and he is extremly happy with it.

from MN  -  Semi-pro Photographer

For the price this set is amazing. The umbrellas are cheap but shoot threw or bounce and work well so I have no complaints. The light stand adapters are high quality, durable and come with all attachments including one for tri or mono pod. The stands again a little cheap short legs using a big umbrella at full extension without weighting it would not work but again for the price I am not complaining it does its job nicely

from Mn  -  Semi-pro Photographer

I saw these and the price I purchased them to see what this price gives you. This kit is great and comes with all attachments could use this equipment with anything later you want to purchase I would say online worth is right around 80$ and retail maybe 150$ so good deal and everything needed to start using off camera flash.

Questions about this item:

Shopper  Why Did You Choose This?
NEIL H L  fo studio lighting at good price
Shopper  Would love to be able to use some continuous lights with this kit... any suggestions for some that are compatible? Would also love some recommendations for speedlights in the future.
CHARLES F  These are light stands that you can put anything on as long as it mounts and remains stable. I would be wary of big, hot tungsten lights. I have used them with fluorescent soft boxes as video lights. Most of the time however, I mount speedlights. I am not an expert, but 99% of the time I use my lights in manual mode. For this I use older Nikon ones, such as SB-24 and SB-28, with radio triggers. These put out enough power and you can buy them on ebay for a reasonable price.
Shopper  what kind of umbrella comes with this package?
GREG V  it appears to be a 30" diameter white umbrella with a separate black cover. There is no bag to hold the umbrella or stand, so you will need a separate item.
