PRESSlite Features

  • The PRESSlite VerteX can be instantly transformed into multiple configurations, for tackling virtually any lighting situation.
  • The breakthrough technology enables you to fine-tune your flash output, for stunning, studio-like results.
  • The radical new design offers a host of features not available with any other diffuser or light modifier currently on the market:
  • Multi-Dimensional Lighting:
  • Now you can sculpture light, in multiple dimensions, blending diffused and non-diffused illuminations from different directions. The VerteX can project multiple, discrete, steerable light sources from a single flash. This opens up an entirely new set of options and strategies for creative lighting that were never before possible.
  • Target Bouncing:
  • Target your bounce and project light exactly where you want it. The VerteX allows you to direct powerful specular light onto multiple surfaces for the ultimate bounce. Perhaps even more importantly, the VerteX allows you to "steeraway" from undesirable surfaces!
  • Thumb-Shift Ratio Control:
  • There's no faster way to faithfully change the bounce-to-fill ratio than this thumb-shift mechanism. All you need to do is use the VerteX thumb-shift, with your one free hand.
  • Multi-Purpose Panels:
  • Each VerteX panel has two sides. One side diffuses light, while the other projects specular light, for the ultimate bounce. The VerteX panels can be usedeither one or two at a time. They are adjustable, detachable and interchangeable, with just one hand. These panels can also function as "blinders," to control light spills.
  • Expanded Available Angles:
  • Swivel heads are designed specifically to bounce light from various angles. But this does not always include the particular angle you need at a given moment. Combining the agility of the VerteX, together with your existing flash unit, virtually all angles become available.
  • Extended Wireless Triggering:
  • Triggering optically controlled slave flashes can be tricky when they are out ofthe master flash's line-of-sight. This becomes even more challenging out of doors, in conditions of bright sunlight.
  • The VerteX's ability to steer light makes it possible to extend the range and usability of the common coverage cone. (the distance and angle from which the master unit can communicate successfully with the slave).
  • Efficient & Effective Use of Energy:
  • Mastery over the light output is key to energy efficiency and lighting effectiveness. The VerteX controls the throw of light, without blocking, filtering or weakening it, as is the case with many translucent-type diffusers.
  • In this way, a significant energy savings is realized. This translates into longer battery life, faster recycle time, higher f-stop (better depth-of-field) and lower ISO options, helping you go "green" with your flash photography.
  • All-in-One (Self-Contained) Design:
  • Go from direct light to diffused light to specular (mirrored) light, or any combination, with a quick twist or tilt. No need to fumble around with attachingor removing anything, to accommodate the immediate lighting situation. Just strap it on your flash and go to work!
  • Compact Form & Superior Functionality:
  • The highest caliber hybrid plastics, elastomers and magnets are used to deliver fluid movement, superior mechanical properties, lasting reliability and minimal weight.
  • The small size and lightweight design facilitate agile manipulation of the entire camera/flash system without undue stress on the flash head and hot shoe (a major issue with other, heavy devices on the market today).
  • Thanks to its small footprint and modular design, the VerteX can easily be folded away into a pocket or pouch.
  • Hot Shoe Mount or Off-Camera Option:
  • The VerteX is amazingly effective either on-camera or off. Flash brackets, tripods, light stands, umbrellas and reflectors all coordinate amazingly well with the incredibly versatile VerteX.
  • Professional and amateur photographers alike will discover an entire world of new lighting opportunities.

PRESSlite Vertex Light Modifier

Pretty nifty piece of equipment. Slight learning curve to use the panels properly but once you have it down it is very usefull. Pretty nifty piece of equipment. Slight learning curve to use the panels properly but once you have it down it is very usefull. It could use the ability to mount larger panels to allow more control of the flash as well as a higher placement of those panels (to allow for a better "bounce" effect. As it stands the small panels are too close to the flash head and can make "bouncing" the flash difficult in situations where the ceilings are not of a desireable color. Raising the panels would be the simplest way to remedy this or perhaps creating some type of joint that would allow the panels to be positioned further back on the flash head. Other than that it is a great, compact, piece of equipment which I use mostly for nightclub and event photography (hence the reason I like it's compact nature) but I think would especially excell in portrait applications.

Strange and fragile but worth the time

By

This is another bounce tool that CAN produce excellent results IF you have the time to set it up for a given shot. It's not for situations where you can't stop and prep the shot.

Essentially useless

By

from Lansing, MI

I bought this about a year ago when I was working at a daily paper in hopes that it would give me more flexibility to bounce flash in tough situations. Unfortunately, it was cumbersome, clumsy, and useless. There really isn't more to say about it. It looks cool, and like it might be a neat gadget to have. But it isn't. I returned it.

Why Don't I Come Up With These Things?

By

from Brooklyn, NY

I've had this thing for over 2 months, and I finally decided to use it in a shoot. The Versaflex worked better than I could have hoped. My portraits were very flattering. The light was flat with virtually no hot spots. My only gripe is the construction. It feels like an unfinished product. But it works!

It works!

By

Gives you complete control over your light output, regardless of the setting. I was shooting execs in their offices. Some had windows behind them, to the left, right, in front, etc. I was able to supplement the natural light in every office with quick and easy adjustments. It works perfect!
