Works well with built-in flash!

Works well with a built-in flash (what it's made for). Since the flash is deflected & diffused, it reduces the efficiency of the flash. Don't expect it to increase your flash power. It just distributes your flash more evenly and eliminates hot spots, but leaves contours and textures.

Might work if it would stay on!

There are two velcro stretch straps that are supposed to hold the device in place. Have tried a variety of combinations without success. If placed around the lens, the reflector eventually pops off the lens barrel when you focus in/out. If you place the straps over the back of the camera, the LCD screen and most of the controls are blocked - and the reflector is back on the camera body. Directions on application would have been helpful, if not necessary.

Useful tool for nature macrophotography

By

from Gainesville, FL  -  Hobbyist/Enthusiast

I am using this reflector for macrophotography of flowers, mushrooms, etc. where lighting is low, as in woods or evening light. It provides a little even light, and sometimes that is all that is needed.

This item is ok, will do what it says. The velcro straps could be a little better designed, but it works. [...]

Questions about this item:

Shopper  Why Did You Choose This?
STEVEN H  Just a gadget for macro when facing into the sun. The few times I've used it it works just fine.
Shopper  Hi, Is this supposed to be used to diffuse on camera flash or just to reflect any light that may be directed at your lens? Thanks! George
SHIVANAND D  This will only reflect light due to silver coating on the front facing side of flecta. This is not a diffuser. There are other diffusers in the market with similar design. May be not available in Adorama though.
