Not bomb proof. Works as advertised. I would expect it to last years. But of the price with the kit not bad

Just starting a photography business and this umbrella was a excellent price for a quality product. The fact that I can use it as reflective or shoot thru saved me space and money.

This 40" White Umbrella works great. It has a removable back cover so I can use it as a "Shoot Through" umbrella too.. 2 different purposes, 1 low price. I will buy the larger 60" soon. You have to be careful with it, it is super lightweight, could break easy.

I pretty much knew that I was ordering a "less-than high quality" umbrella, but I was a bit surprised upon opening it that I found 4 holes in three of the panels. The material used is very thin and allows light to pass through it (yes, even with the black cover on). I did like the thicker 8mm rod as apposed to the standard 7mm. It will work, at least for those learning, but I would suggest if you want something to last - spend more on a better product like Wescott or Photoflex. I gave two stars instead of three because of the damage.

This is a great umbrella for the price.

What can I say? Its an umbrella. As an umbrella it functions well. The removable cover is nice as it allows me to flag the light to avoid spill onto unwanted areas. The cover also slips on very easily. The reason for 3-stars is that there was some black reside (assuming from the black cover) which stained the otherwise pure white umbrella. Not a huge issue, but somewhat of a disappointment.

I received two of these with my FP620M lighting kit. I was expecting them to come with silver-lined black covers but they do not. The black backing for both of mine is NOT lined. It's just plain 'ole black.

I have used this for several different scenarios and it has been effective in each. The lighting is consistant and it is constructed very well. I have not used it outdoors much but it seems built well enough to withstand some light to medium outdoor duty. I would be cautious in really windy conditions but I have no first hand experience to say how it would stand up.

It's alright for an inexpensive umbrella. Mine has a seam that wasn't stitched well and separated but doesn't seem to affect it's performance. I'll see how long it holds up. I won't be giving it heavy use so I expect it to be fine.

even with all the good reviews, I was a little bit nervous about buying this umbrella at first. but I figured its cheap enough, I really wont be out alot of money if it turns out to be a dud. After using it, I can honestly say that I would happily pay double the price should I ever need another. Don't let the low price fool you. Its a great umbrella.

Very good piece of equipment that came packaged with a solid air-cushioned stand and Flashpoint 320 monolight. Reasonable price. Recommend it.

Does exactly what it's supposed to do. The metal handle is a bit cheap and lightweight, so it is getting dents from my umbrella holder adapter, but so far, I do not see this as a big problem, since the product is really a great bargain and delivers as expected!

8mm rod not 7mm rod which means it won't fit on elinchrom lights. They are of nice quality if you need 8mm.

Pros: Cheap, it works, and looks nice. Con: There are very fine little threads, holding the fabric to the ends of the metal frame. If just one breaks (which doesn't take much) it basically looks like a broken umbrella. On the positive side, I was able to repair it fairly easily with needle and thread. Regardless, it's ridiculous that they didn't use thicker thread on it. It saved, what, about 2 pennies to use the thinner thread? For this reason, I can't recommend it. But if they fix that problem (or if you're willing to fix it yourself, when/if it breaks) then I would recommend it.

Smooth opening, locks and holds well. Black cover comes off and goes back on easy. If or when I need more I would buy one of these.

• The black backing can be removed to create a "shoot through" umbrella to create a softbox lighting effect. Great for still life setups or single light head & shoulder portraits. Use a colored filter in front of the light for some really special effects.
