BUild is OK. I found that the umbrella seems to require a lot of power from the light source, even when only used a fill. In order to use as a key light it would have to be quite close to the subject or you'd have to have a high powered light. I found that models complained more than normal of the light being really bright. Maybe I need to do some more experimentation to use this umbrella correctly.

This umbrella is very useful. Works like a dream giving you nice wrap around soft light. I own two, I use them with and without shower caps (Westcott's 7' diffusers work just fine on them). Use them for main, BG or with your filllights.

I was so happy with the first one of these I purchased and the lighting it produced with my Bowens lights, I purchased a second one.

Large and Heavy, suggest you use a sandbag to hold the light stand down. Good materials (But some defects in workmanship, sewing at the top was coming undone when new out of the box, I fixed it with glue). The frame/spokes are plastic instead of metal (I actually like the plastic better, it doesn't get permanently deformed/bent, and is easy to bend and spring back when taking off the black cover). The white material is thin (good for shoot through, but not much light comes back when using as a reflective source with black cover, so I spray painted the inside of black cover white, to double the light for reflections when using black cover). Was shipped in nice double boxes, to protect from shipping damage, (Outer box was torn, but inner box and umbrella were fine).

This creates a very flattering light on all subjects. Due to its size and non overpowering reflective material, the light is unsurpassed. I love soft boxes all sizes and shapes. But since this is so easy to use and results are always predictable, I am changing my ways. I use it for all types of subject matter not just portraits.

Using two of these in studio and on location. Perfect portrait shoot through or reflected. Durable construction, moderately light. The only thing missing that I would like better is a silver reflective surface on the inside of the black cover. Would bounce more light better.

I use this product as a fill for portraits and for other large areas where I need a soft light. Good cheap umbrella that dose the job of much more expensive models.

I WAS IMPRESSED WITH THE QUALITY FOR THE PRICE. I THOUGHT I WAS GOING TO GET SOMTHING REALLY FLIMSEY BUT I WAS SURPRISED. IT APPEARS TO BE MADE OUT OF SOME DECENT MATERIALS. IT IS STILL A UMBRELLA SO IT SHOULD BE USED AND CARED FOR ACCORDLING. AS FOR ITS FUNCTION IT WORKS GREAT.

I am 5'9" tall...this thing is taller than me by at least 5 inches.... Considering 60" is 5 feet. this is more like a 6 foot umbrella. it also folds to 35/36 inches, so that in itself says how big it is when doubled. around 70 inches..compared to the 7 foot umbrellas this is a steal! the only cons are it is bigger than expected when compared to other brands...be warned..this thing is HUGE but great for the money. if you are looking for a smaller umbrella, look elsewhere. but for the price...snag this as well for versatility!

This is a huge umbrella. The diameter of 60" is the real distance from rim to rim directly, not going along the back. The shaft must be solid, leaving no dents after mounted on a umbrella holder. The black back with silver inner layer is removable. 16 rib looks sturdy.

These umbrellas are well constructed, reasonably priced, and make a really nice portable large diffuser.

Works great. Good light quality. Umbrellas are never very sturdy, so I like them to be not too pricey.

I love this umbrella, spreads light very evenly, convertible so one umbrella cover's upclose and farther away lighting, sturdy design, I really can't say enough good things about it.

This is a big umbrella - provides big diffusion and shoot through option with the removable cover. Great value as always from Adorama. Well made.

This Umbrella does a lot for the money that you spend on it. I found that in some locations that I have to shoot the Umbrella is too big but found that if I collasp it a little it still doesa a great job. It does give out a large about of light to light the area weather I am shooting one person or severial.

The black backing can be removed to create a "shoot through" umbrella which will give you a softbox lighting effect. Great for still life setups or single light head & shoulder portraits. Use a colored filter in front of the light for some really special effects.
