Falling in love with this product is easy. With it's wonderful size and shape many new lighting applications become available. Great for quick one light set ups.

Good product for the price, but the quality needs to be there, the piece i got had a stitch missing close to the vertex and leaves a gaping hole and also the nut at the vertex of the umbrella is a plastic piece which already fell off. I was little lazy or hesitant in returning the product. I would say pay a bit more and get a quality product.

I use this Umbrella to indirectly light groups of kids in schools! Absolutely fantastic! I love that Flashpoint makes a 60" and that it is so very reasonably priced and the quality is outstanding! The only thing I wish it would have had was a sock for it to slide into, and also a strap with velcro or a button just like a regular umbrella has.

I saw large umbrellas being used on an Adorama TV tutorial on light modifiers but don't have room for a seven foot monster. This 60 inch umbrella fits my space and provides fairly even light.

A full 60 inches in diameter, really well constructed and sturdy. Great for wide even lighting with my Flashpoint M620 Monolight. Nice for wide coverage on still life photography too. Silver gives a little more "snap" compared to white reflectors which I prefer. Can't go wrong with this umbrella.

So far this umbrella works great. Great price and seems to be durable. I haven't used it but 3 times, but already has been knocked over and no damage was done!

Flashpoint normally puts out a decent product but in this case I really can't say that this time. The umbrella has more weight than the Wescott "84. Has light leaks at the seams. It performs as intended but not overly joyed with the product.

Used this on a couple different portrait shoots as fill outdoors in direct sun and as a main light. Like the look. Plus, you get a lot of light out of this umbrella compared to any kind of softbox or shoot through umbrella. Nice when using hotshoe flashes in the sun... Wind is a bit of an issue. I've found that the umbrella holds shape pretty well, but supporting with some kind of c-stand (or heavy light stand) and multiple sandbags is needed. They mention using this with HMI's...and I have tried it with the 575W light I have. It is hard to get the light at the focus of the parabola due to the umbrella shaft interfering with the light. No melting issues though. I'll probably stick to more traditional reflectors/softboxes. All in all, these are a good buy. I'd also check out the genuine paul buff models as they may have better connections for your light source(s).

I read a negative review regarding the construction of this umbrella. However, I think it is one of the best that I have bought. I have bought a fair variety of them. The fiberglass ribs are an excellent feature. I like this umbrella much better than the 60-inch Softlighter, for shape (16 ribs, versus 8), for durability and for efficient light output. An optional white cover would be a nice feature, but this umbrella renders an even soft light, so it's not really necessary.

After reading a negative review on the quality and construction I was a bit hesitant. I ordered anyway and received it in 2 days in perfect condition. I am very happy with the effect I get. No real difference in the Paul Buff which a friend of mine owns. I will update as I use it more.

Great Parabolic Umbrella

Flashpoint presents a quality parabolic umbrella with 16 ribs and a very shiny silver coating on the inside. It features a very precise front focusing device, c and an also be used with HMI constant lighting.
The design of this quality umbrella results in a very high light efficiency. It allows the choice of directed light with high contrast to extremely soft light.
In comparison to a large area lamp the light stays constantly brilliant, shrouding the object like a cloud of light and bringing out wonderfully the structures.
Due to the calculated parabolic shape of the umbrella, light fall off towards the edges is negligible.
