Dandy Device

The holder had to be re-assembled into the preferred orientation, and the cold shoe had to be modified (it wouldn't allow my Nikon flashes to lock securely)but otherwise the device does everything one could ask.

Most Liked Negative Review

SB900 Problems

The flash shoe mount does not work with Nikon SB900 Flash. Manufacture of the aluminum holder depth is to big for the flash.

Not Heavy Duty Enough

By

I bought this to use with my new 7' Parabolic Umbrella and it can't with stand the weight of the umbrella and flashes i attached to it. Luckily I had a Manfrotto swivel holder handy that could handle the load.

You get what you pay for!

It broke the very first time I used it. It was windy and the stand with the umbrella felt and that was it for the swivel holder. Since it is made of plastic, it broke clean in two pieces.

Precisely what I needed

By

This thing is made like a tank! I have the ability to crank one of these little beauties out in my basement, but not at this price. This baby is so darn flexible you won't believe it. What I was using was garbage compared to this unit. You have total control of the amount of slippage you need for adjustment. Just take a good look at the quality of the brass inserts - WOW. Thanks Adorama - you did it again.

Solid Mount

By

Pretty good mount, do note that it is mostly plastic, a very hard plastic. It works as it should, it is very good quality, and a bit on the bulky side.

Good to have one in your bag

It is very easy to use, and comes with a cold shoe for mounting a flash, which is very useful whenever you don't have an assistant with you. Seems very solidly built

Good enough bracket

By

Well enough built bracket. I felt the screw which holds umbrella shaft is a bit weak for my 7 footer. Otherwise a good bracket.

Just what I needed

By

from midwest  -  Photo Enthusiast

I regularly have to use clamps to mount my off camera flash and I'm frustrated that many inexpensive swivel brackets either do not have a option to mount the bracket through the side or the hole is not large enough. This one works beautifully with my clamps as well as my light stands. I love that it comes with the male and female adapters. I have never used the cold shoe mount because I do not like the idea of the flash being held at a single point with a screw. I automatically buy a cold shoe mount that I prefer and give this one away. (I don't trust myself not to over tighten and break the foot on my speedlights.) When I need to replace or add another swivel bracket I will be purchasing this one.

Tammy S  Can I use a Nikon SB 910 speed light with this set up?

Shopper  Is this compatible with Minolta/Sony speed lights?
RAFAEL Z  Hi there! I recently acquired this item and I used it with a Yongnuo Flash, a Vivitar flash and a Nikon flash and it worked fine with all of them. The shoe mount seems "universal" and I don't see any reason why It would not work with Sony or any other brand. I hope this helps. Good luck, Rafael Z
