New Life for Contax G Series Lensess

By

from New Haven, CT  -  Professional

The Metabones adapter breathes new life into some of the best Zeiss lens designs in recent years. In particular, the 45mm Planar shines in this application. What the adapter lacks in mechanical precision (it's not perfectly smooth on focusing movements) it makes up for by resurrecting the optical performance of these great examples of Zeiss lens design.

Questions about this item:

Michael B  I have a set of lenses for the contax g1 series- 35mm 45mm and 90mm will this adapter work for the sony nex 6? What are the limitations if any?
TAKESHI M  Hello I have a 28mm Biogon lens , It's work !
Shopper  how it works with sony a7 ?
JOSEPH B  It works as advertised, though to be more specific, I use the A7r. I couldn't say if there would be any difference. Remember, Nikon to Sony, ho autofocus, and manual. The Zeiss lens has a detent at the f22 end of the scale which locks the aperture. It must be kept locked when the lens is on the adapter and the aperture is set by an aperture ring on the adapter.
