Warning: Doesn't fit Nikon G lenses!

I've purchased two and both had the same problem... the retainer springs block any/all of my Nikon G lenses from mounting securely. My first try I it was just tight and turned the lens with some force resulting in a bent.. actually smashed.. the retainer spring (the little metal clip inside the adapter that creates tension to keep the lenses from wiggling). Returned and bought a new one thinking it was probably an isolated incident and things would be different on my second try. Same problem. Called a friend who recently purchased this item and he was experiencing the same thing. He was able to bend the springs a bit and get his lenses to mount but was very unhappy with how hard it was to mount/unmount his lenses. I have brand new Nikon G lenses and this adapter seems like it will either damage my lens or damage itself if I apply the pressure necessary to get the lens to turn into position to lock. After reading reviews online and looking at B&H's recent ratings on the product, I'm convinced that Metabones is selling a batch of defective adapters. I'm confused as to why the company doesn't have better quality control... like actually mounting a lens as a final step of the production line?? Call my crazy.

Sony E-Mount Adapter

Works as it was made, my only complaint, it will not allow Auto Focus. They make one for Canon that allows AF but not for Nikon?

Solid product

I use this adapter on my Sony A7R. This adapter feels extremely solid and well machined. The connection to my Nikon lenses is tight; tight enough that it feels like a part of the lens once it is on. Be aware that this is not a smart adapter, so you must control the aperture with the adapter's aperture ring and your pics EXIF won't display any aperture data.

Solid. Focuses to infinity. Nice amount of travel in the iris control. The arca Swiss mounting point on the collar really helps with longer lenses.

Questions about this item:

Shopper  Does this adapter enable the camera to autofocus and meter the Nikon lenses?
KEVIN W  The adapter engages the mechanical iris only. No electronic functions will work.
Shopper  I recently purchased a Sony a6000 and would like an e-mount adapter for my Nikon lenses. I have a Nikkor 18-200 1:3.5-5.6 G ED DX lens (no aperture ring) and a Nikkor 70-200 1:28 G ED lens (no aperture ring) as well as a Micro Nikkor 200 m 1:4 D lens (with aperture ring) and a Nikkor 1:2.8 D 20mm (with aperture ring). Is there an adapter that will accommodate both types of lenses? Which adapters would you recommend for these lenses?
STEVE E  The "G" type will work on both types, but you have to be careful to not move the ring on the Metabones, or it will change the lens opening on your manual lens. You could tape it in place. The manual "F" type are nicer for manual lenses. No ring to move by mistake. They are pretty cheap to expensive depending on the brand. I'd try one of the cheaper ones and return it if you don't like the quality.
ed k  Will this mount full frame nikon f to sony a7r..??
STEVE E  yes it will.
