Shopper : can I use for nikon d3100 18-55 & 55-200 ? thanksDAVID D : I am not a Nikon user, so I do not know the filter size for both lenses. Technically, if both lenses are 49mm thread size the answer is yes. How well it will work, I do not know. I am guessing that you would use the 55-200 on the camera and reverse the 18-55 as the magnification is the one lens focal length divided by the focal length of the other. so 55/55=1, 55/18=3, 200/55=3.6, or 200/18=11x magnification on macro. I was using primes to limit distortion issues as those will be magnified too.JOHN D : This coupling ring screws into the filter threads on the front of the two lenses. I believe the two lenses mentioned take a 52mm filter, so look for a 52-52 coupling ring. The problem you will run into using two kit zoom lenses is that they have small maximum apetures, so it is hard to get enough light in order to focus acurately. Also, the zoom tends to drift because of the added weight. Don't count on using the zoom to control your magnification, as focusing using the backwards lens technique is already very challenging.ERIC D : No, those lenses take 52mm threads. Get the Adorama 52-52 coupling ring.

About Adorama Macro Coupling Ring 49-49

Macro Coupler Rings allow you to couple two lenses front end to front end. That combination makes a great macro lens at a fraction of the cost. If you have two different diameter lenses, then the combination of a Macro Coupler and a Step-Up or Step-Down ring will do the job.
