Description
· ED APOs have always been popular with planetary observers, but in recent years they have become extremely popular among astrophotographers due to their wide field of view, high contrast and tiny star images. Even beginners will notice the extra high contrast and absence of color fringes around objects that the use of ED glass allows. After two years of optical engineering and design, Meade is proud to announce their 80mm ED APO refractor.

Incorporating a machined aluminum Crayford-style focuser and fully multi-coated lenses for maximum light transmission, an air spaced objective lens, adjustable lens cell, the Premium ED glass rounds off a great refractor. ED APO is respected in the astronomy community for its unrivalled color correction. The Meade Series 5000 ED Apochromatic Refracting Telescope will let you enjoy the crisp perfection of ED glass at a price comparable to non-ED premium scopes.
