Meade missed the boat on this one
The Meade 647 has a few very frustrating faults. I use it on a 9.25 SCT, with a 2" 26 mm Televue Panoptic and a 10 megapixel SLR on the back. In order to make the two parfocal, I had to add a 50 mm extension tube to the eyepiece (not included).
The mirror is too high, and crops the bottom edge of the viewing field, so I had to find longer screws, re-drill the side covers, and lower the whole hinge mechanism about 10 mm.
A lot of work for something that expensive, that should have worked right out of the box.
