The perfect finish

As advertised, Moab Desert Varnish does not affect the original paper finish - glossy stays glossy, matte stays matte. This product give a nice archival protection to help reduce minor scuffs or finger prints.

An important finishing tool

By

from Far, far, northern California

I read in a few places that this product would be very uesful, especially to prevent faiding smudging when not displayed behind glass. I put many of my prints on foamboard or I mat them on pre-cut sets. I feel I am offfering a higher quality product when I spray them. My process is to spray them soon after printing. I now just hold up an unprinted edge and spray a medium thick coat back and forth and then up and down. Spray cans don't work well when pointed down. I also set up a spraying station with small soft clasps to hold the print upright while spraying. On a couple of borderless ones I put on the clasps, sprayed, and then re-sprayed the area wher the clasp was. Every print I have sprayed looks great. Never once did the can spit out on uneven spray, however, try to not lay them down while spraying. This stuff is dry in 15 seconds, but I leave them alone for alot longer before handling them. I get quite a few prints from one can. Off the top of my head, 15-20 11x14s or even 13x19s.

Seems same as Hahnemuhle protective spra

By

from Williamsburg, VA  -  Hobbyist/Enthusiast

I had almost run out of Hahnemuhle protective spray and it was out of stock, so I ordered Moab. I have used it on a matte print and it seems to be the same quality and formulation as Hahnemuhle. Worked just fine and sprayed on the same. Highly recommend. Also, spray your photos outside in a non windy place as this item does smell when spraying.

Visit Moab for Beutiful Images

By

from Loveland, CO  -  Pro Photographer

I create digital images on Polar Matte for exhibit in shows and galleries. I like to display them framed without glass. The Moab Desert Varnish provides a beautiful coating which not only protects the image but prolongs image life and improves image contrast. The finished product looks like a painting from a distance. I will continue to use Moab Desert Varnish on all my matte images.

Did I spray that print?

By

from Nashville, TN.  -  Frequent User

Product goes on prints very well and once dry, you don't know it's there. I have used Sureguard and Krylon sprays in the past. After using Desert Varnish, there is no other spray for me. Desert Varnish from this point forward.

Shopper  How is this for reducing bronzing? Would you recommend it for that purpose? If not, what would you recommend? Most prints I do are on an HP 130 using 'E' surface paper
WALTER S  I don't think it will make a difference--- be sure your using brand name photo paper.
greg r  Can you use this on matter print ?
WALTER S  I use it to spray on " MOAB ANASAZI CANVAS". I like it,but, you must be careful of not over-spraying and follow instructions about distance from copy. Walter
