Cute, That's all!

After 2 days I got this product, it didn't work. I thought battery was out. However, it was not. It sometimes work but it usually isn't turned on at all. It is good for house decoration but that's it.

It is what it is!

It is a good looking camera that draws a lot of attention/curiosity. The photos are just okay if there is good available light. Colors are a little on the green side. I also have the optional flash which makes the camera look more stunning, but the flash is fixed intensity: too washed out if too close; not strong enough if too far. My Sony U20, 2MP camera from 2002 takes better pictures.

Minox DDC Leica M3

Minox has a renowned reputation for fine miniature film cameras since 1938 and I'm a proud owner of a Minox B which I purchased in Germany in 1966 however when I saw the Leica DCC digital miniature on line produced by Minox I had to have my own '1954' Leica replica miniature digital camera made by Minox of Germany. The Leica DCC is stated to have 5.0 meg stills resolution plus video capabilities and too my surprise its made in China (stamped on bottom of camera) not in Germany as I was made to believe. I'm most disappointed with the sub-standard quality of pictures and videos ( poor at best ) produced from this most impressive looking replica of a 'Vintage Leica' camera by Minox and compare its picture and video taking qualities to that of the cheapest of toy digital cameras for children under the age of 8 years old. In closing I wish to add that Minox in the past has never been a cheap camera to own and this camera should be no exception to the rule ! The look of the camera details are superb but I only wish that the Minox engineers had a few good Canon or Nikon engineers to help them working on this project to make this a true 'Minox Camera Marvel' as they have all these years in the past with their fine film cameras. This camera is not worthy to carry the 'Minox Precision Minaiture Camera Tradition' that Walter Zapp ( founder ) would have been proud to place his name on !

It is what it is

This camera is not an SLR, so keep your expectations whithin limits. I feel I got the results I was expecting, and maybe more. Minox and I spent a week in Vegas, shooting scenery and people. I think the daytime shots are as good as some I took with my Nikon D-80... I would liked to have had the availability of the flash and a remote firing mechanism.....but remember I said this little wonder performed as I think it was supposed to. If you want big guy work ...get a big guy to do it...Minox is just my great "Tag along". Dave Lord Sr.

Good camer for good lighting

In general a good camera, except for low-light situations (about EV2 at ASA 400) - then it isn't the camera for you - your lowest f-stop/shutter speed combo is f2.8 @ 1/10 sec. For an ASA equivalent of 100, too! Minox should either: increase the lowest shutter or make the "speed" rating of the sensor higher (I'd like ASA 400, please!)

Nice little DC

This extremely compact camera is pretty neat, particularly once photos are downloaded to computer. Camera LCD is not so good at displaying color (particularly reds) when shooting, but colors (including reds) really show up after downloading to computer (which is very easy to do), and pics are reasonably sharp displaying fully on a 15" monitor. Sure, it's limited in low light, but making use of EV scaling helps a lot in various light conditions. It can be difficult to focus, as LCD is so small. It's great for close-ups though. Insert of a 4GB card is helpful, allowing 3,000 high-quality photos. This camera is not up to Minox film-camera standards, but then no digital camera is that good.

Worst pictures ever

Everyone likes the way it looks immediatly. However it produces the worst pictures of any digital camera I have ever used. Much worse than a my first Olympus 1.3 megapixel point and shoot. A big waste of money.

The new digital Classic Camera from Minox comes in a really stylish format. On the outside it features the miniaturized shell of the legendary Leica M3, designed in great detail, and inside it is packed with innovative technology in the form of a powerful digital camera. This new edition of the wee camera is a logical and up to date further development of the previous DCC model, and features a color monitor and a memory card slot

The State-of-the-art technology and optical systems behind the nostalgic look provide images of a brilliant quality. Functional controls have been discretely integrated in the body, including the 1.5 inch TFT color monitor. As a supplement to the optical viewfinder the display can optionally help the user compose the subject and provides information on the selected specific camera settings as well as on the number of images. At the same time the camera is extremely easy to use and therefore excellently suited for those getting started in the world of digital photography.

Based on its innovative, striking appearance it's a real eye-catcher and guarantees unlimited photographic fun to people of all ages. In video mode it is possible to shoot film sequences with the wee DCC in AVI format. With a resolution of up to five mega pixels, the new Digital Classic Camera delivers detailed images with an impressing sharpness. And there's no need to worry about memory space. All data are stored on SD cards with a capacity of up t o 2 GB. The engineers at Minox have been able to integrate a card slot in the small body next to the USB interface for transferring data to the computer.

In addition, there is a 32 MB internal memory available for storing files. And for the first time a built-in Li-ion battery provides the camera power supply. The DCC draws attention wherever it goes and its compact dimensions make it a permanent and attractive companion, ready to capture candid shots and memories of every occasion. It also serves as a reliable digital notebook
