About Noblex 175 UX 6X17 120mm Med Format Lens Panoramic Cam

The 175 UX which uses 120 Roll Film ONLY is for the photographer who demands a Larger Image Size. The 175 is ideal for Stock photography, group portraiture, nature photography, architecture, landscapes, interiors, & street scenes. The combination of the 6x17 format, and the Noblar T 6.5 75 mm lens allows the photographer to capture stunning panoramic images. The 175 UX incorporates Shift, Focus, as well as the inclusion of the Slow Speed Shutter Module, allowing rotations down to 2 full seconds, ideal for nightime CityScapes.

All Noblex Cameras operate the same way. Noblex Cameras are "SWING LENS" cameras, that is, the lens is recessed into a revolving drum, which rotates a complete 360 degrees. During the first half of this revolution, the lens is hidden from view. Also during this period of time, the lens, through a geared system, gets" up to speed", a speed which is electronically maintained during the second half of the rotation (because of this, banding, common with spring wound swing lens cameras, is eliminated). As the lens goes through the second half of this rotation, the exposure is made. Light entering through the lens is exposed onto a CURVED FILM PLANE, which results in a panoramic image that is distortion free (it is because of the curved film plane that the image is distortion free, edge to edge). The lens always maintains the same distance from the film plane.

The body of all Noblex Cameras are cast from a single piece of AIRCRAFT STRENGTH ALUMINUM. Each camera is hand produced from components manufactured to factory specifications. The main rotational drum is GEAR DRIVEN, not spring driven. All Noblex Cameras use NOBLAR "T" (Tessar design: 4 element, 4 grouping) lenses. Resulting images are tack sharp, edge to edge.
