Great lens !

Decided on a "refurb" and I'm totally happy with the purchase. Lens came in "new" condition with all lens caps, hood, pouch, etc... If you want to go ultra wide with a decent amount of zoom on the long end I would recommend getting this lens over the Nikon 12-24.

A great lens

By

from Hudson Valley  -  Semi-Professional

Just the thing for interior shots in homes. I've been using it for real estate photography and it is the way to go. One note is that I go back to my 18-105 when I get outside unless I need that really wide shot.

Love this Lens for Landscape Photography

By

from Washington, DC  -  Hobbyist/Enthusiast

I actually bought this to replace one I had previously that was unfortunately stolen, but loved it and glad to have it back in my arsenal again! Perfect for cityscapes and landscapes! Took this sucker to the Grand Canyon & Muir Woods and got some amazing photos with it!

Loving the 10-24mm zoom

By

from Kenosha, WI  -  Professional

This lens is everything it needs to be, some may bash the lens barrel, but I find it's light weight quite comfortable! Best thing about it is not having to miss shots because I can't get back far enough! Sure, there's a little distortion, but at 10mm or so, it's expected! I definitely give the lens a 4.5 star rating, to me, a must have!

Wider than expected

By

from Undisclosed

What an awesome lens. The difference between 18mm on my existing lenses to 10mm on this one is dramatic. Exciting possibilities. Expensive, but worth the investment. Can't wait to take this on my next trip.

Better than the 12-24

By

from Florida  -  Semi-Professional

I was debating between the 10-24 and the 12-24 so I ordered them both to compare. Here's what I found: The 10-24 is wider (obviously) by a quite noticeable amount while still maintaining mostly straight horizon lines. I was pleasantly surprised and impressed by this. The curvature that does exist at 10mm is easily corrected in lightroom and results in very minor cropping. The 10-24 is sharper than the 12-24 and has better color and contrast reproduction as well. This surprised me because I expected it to be the other way around. The 12-24 has a constant maximum aperture which is handy if you are zooming while shooting in manual. If you are not shooting in manual this is irrelevant. (Even if you are shooting in manual with a variable maximum aperture lens, you just use the largest aperture of the lens that is constant throughout the zoom range). There is a lot of talk about the build quality of the 12-24 being better than the 10-24. I found this to be mostly unfounded as neither of these lenses are built to rugged standards. They have very similar materials and durability in my opinion. Final analysis: I kept the 10-24 because it is wider, sharper, and reproduces color and contrast better than the 12-24.

Great Wide Angle

By

from Sunny, AZ  -  Hobbyist/Enthusiast

This lens allows me to capture entire rooms as we remodel retail stores. I also like the fact that I can take it on my hikes and capture so much more than my 18-200. Great lens!

Just bought and already love it!

By

from Richmond, VA  -  Hobbyist/Enthusiast

I've been wanting a wide-angle for quite sometime, I shoot mostly landscape and like city scapes. Shot close to home and have not seen alot of distortion on the edges which is good. Once I get downtown and shoot some of our beautiful architecture, I can give a better review.

10-24 Nikkor AF-S DX for D7100

By

from Sunrise Manor, NV, USA

The clarity of this lens is fantastic. The feel is right. The weight is nominal for a lens of this caliber. If you like the outdoors and especially like landscapes this lens is for you. I looked at several other brands but kept returning to the Nikkor. My decision was a three month test and review of different wide angles. I am confident with this lens and expect it to perform well for many years. This lens will be used primarily on the D7100. I put a B+H XS-PRO Digital UV Haze MRC nano filter on the front. I am looking forward to hiking the Grand Canyon, Zion National Park, and the Wasatch range with this lens. Hope to see some of you out on the trail. Happy hunting!
