About Nikon 16x50 Porro Prism

Nikon's Action EX, Extreme All Terrain Binoculars are designed to appeal to optics users who value tough construction and reliable optical performance under even the most extreme conditions.

The Nikon Extreme binoculars feature an all-metal chassis with lens fittings housed in a tough, lightweight polycarbonate body shell. Like all Nikon All Terrain Binoculars, the EX is nitrogen-filled and O-ring sealed for total waterproof, fogproof and shockproof performance in any environment. The binocular is ergonomically shaped, tripod adaptable and rubber coated for a non-slip grip, whether wet or dry.

The new Extreme ATB offerings utilize high-resolution lenses and prism systems crafted from Nikon's exclusive Eco-Glass, which is made without the use of arsenic or lead. This lens system provides an extremely clear, distortion-free image over the entire field of view. The lens elements each incorporate multi-layered anti-reflective coatings formulated to deliver optimum brightness, high contrast, true color rendition and flare-free viewing in most lighting conditions.

The Action EX series binoculars each feature a unique, click-stop eyecup design that not only delivers long eye relief, but also allows for variable eye relief that is customizable to the user's own eyes and eyeglasses. The binoculars are central focus with a diopter control to correct for normal right/left eye vision imbalance.

Each model is covered by Nikon's 25-year Limited Warranty, as well as Nikon's exclusive No Fault Repair/Replacement Policy.

Just Okay.

These are Value minded binocs and not of high quality. I would rec you save your money for some time and get a pair of Minox 15 power for 599 or Vortex 15power for 650. The images are okay in the middle of the day but they struggle to gather light in early AM and late eves. The edges are blurred. Higher power binocs of quality are hard to,come by and you get what you pay for,,,,,, Go try some high power binocs and compare, then shop for the best deal.

Action Extreme ATB

We were able to see whales clearly from the shore, which is what we wanted. We need to get a tripod because the binos do get heavy after awhile.

why did I wait so long

Could not decide if these would be worth the money. Compared to others that I have used these are hands down the best binoculars that you can get in this price range. Worked great for my applications.

Good binoculars but minor color fringing

By

from Herndon, VA  -  Casual/ Recreational

16 power binoculars are difficult to hold steady and these are no exception. They do come with a tripod mount which would help. The only problem I've found is the very slight chromatic aberration. Considering the low price, the image quality is very acceptable. I think most people would be happier with 8x40 binoculars which are much easier to hold steady.

You pay for what you get

Purchased these for my boat. I'm very satisfied with performance. Had a hard time seeing what the next boat over was pulling in with my previous pair of 8x. At 16x I'm practically in the net with my neighbor's catch. Other than the price, and they are pricey, I'd recommend these to anyone. I'm not into astronomy, but the moon looks awesome as well. I also noticed a lot of stars that are not visible with the naked eye. So a+ on low light viewing as well.
