Shopper : does it come with a lens cap?THADDEUS E : The binocular comes with a lens cover for the top lens , not the bottom lens.SUSAN V : Yes, and it can be strung on the strap so you don't lose it.JEFFREY P : Lens cap is only for the eyepiece side...no cap for the front. However, the front lenses are recessed enough and likely don't need one. It comes with a soft case that protects everything.MICHAEL M : These do come with lens caps for the eye cups only. Overall these are great binoculars, I am very happy with the lend quality and adjustable eye cups. Shopper : How are these for indoor concerts or in a theater?MICHAEL S : I do not have direct experience using them in a theater setting. I would check to see how they compare with opera glasses. Theses binos perform less well in low light situations compared to full size binos, but the lighting in a theater may be sufficient enough where it would not be a problem.MARTIN E : I use mine for both indoor and outdoor uses. They work surprising well. I though I would have a huge light falloff, but no. I was able to see just fine and in much more detail than the unaided eye. They are very light weight and small which is a plus.NATHANIEL N : Haven't tried them indoors. They are excellent outdoors, but understand that 8 by 25 binoculars are not strong in low light. But a well-lit stage would probably be fine.CYNDI B : I mostly use them for outdoors, for birding and wildlife viewing, but I have used them indoors as well and I find them to work fine.DON K : These would probably be fine at an indoor concert, but in a theater, 8x is probably too much magnification leading to too small of a field of view..DAVID A M : I attend such events also, but haven't used the waterproof binoculars at them. The waterproof model was purchased to handle possible wet weather conditions on an Alaskan cruise. The optics are very good and would work for a concert or the theater. That said, the binoculars are quite rugged, and maybe a bit heavy and clunky for a concert or the theater. Optically, they'd be fine. Maybe look for a more compact, lighter set. I have older Nikon Travelite binoculars and, while not waterproof, they have great optics, are light, and are compact. They are my choice for indoor venues.JEFFREY P : They'll work fine optically but be aware that they may feel heavy if you're going to use them for a prolonged period of time. If most of your usage is indoors, you might consider the lighter Nikon Travelite models which shave off 6+ ounces in weight.

Better than expected

As an avid birdwatcher I appreciate being able to carry binoculars with me at all times. Something I found difficult to do with my standard pair(8x42). While I don't expect the 8x25 to perform like my 8x42, they exceeded my expectations. Focusing was a snap. The subject was clear and bright even in dim light. Colors were true. I can share them with my kids (under 8 years of age) and not feel stressed like I do when they hold my more expensive pair; a better experience for all parties for sure! Construction is solid and should give me many years of trouble free use.

Bought a 2nd pair for my wife!

I've owned a pair of these Nikon 8 X 25 ATB binoculars for ~6 years. They've seen tough service on numerous Boy Scout camping, canoeing, and kayaking trips. In addition, I've used them for hunting, bird watching, wildlife spotting, etc. The binoculars are great. My wife kept borrowing them & I recently purchased a 2nd pair for her. She loves them as well!
