Raising the bar Nikon's unparalleled optical system
The hallmark of the MONARCH 7 is its optical system a seamless carrier of light that utilizes Nikon's premium ED (Extra-low Dispersion) glass and proprietary lens and prism coatings. This heart of the MONARCH 7 not only pushes resolution and brightness to extreme levels, but also further enhances your viewing experience with an amazingly wide field of view, close-focus capability and comfortable eye relief.
The clearest, widest views Advanced multilayer coatings
The sophisticated coating Nikon applies to MONARCH 7 goes far beyond conventional coatings. Dielectric Multilayer Prism Coatings, which provide an even, higher light transmittance across the entire visible light spectrum, are applied to all of the lens and prism surfaces that transmit light. This technique provides almost the same brightness as that perceived by the naked eye, and clear, high-contrast images that display accurate color reproduction.
True colors in high resolution Phase-correction-coated prisms
MONARCH 7 roof prisms are coated with special phase-correction coatings to enhance resolution, contrast and true color rendition for a sharp, high-resolution viewing experience at any distance.
Fully multicoated lenses Provide clear and bright images even when conditions are far from ideal.
Durable rubber-armored coating
Built to handle any environment, this is one piece of equipment you can always count on to perform.
Smooth central focus knob, Easily bring objects into focus with this comfortable and ergonomic design.
Multi-setting click stop eyecups, Allow a custom eye relief fit to your eye for maximum comfort and a full field of view.

These binoculars have outstanding light transmission, color rendition and clarity (resolution). The build quality is excellent, and they are light enough to carry around all day. My only real problem with them, and the reason I didn't give them 5 stars, is the noticeable chromatic aberration along any borders between light and dark areas in the viewing area. Maybe I'm just spoiled by the low to non-existent chromatic aberration in my Nikon photographic equipment, but the amount present in these binoculars seems a bit excessive. It doesn't detract from seeing what I want to see through these fine optics--it just detracts from an otherwise outstanding experience.
Very light, performances are wonderful for such a weight. Brilliant and sharp images. Still, you will never get the comfort of the heavier ones. Probably, one of the best binoculars in the history for birdwatching in long hikes.
I am so delighted with theese binoculars.. Monarch 7 are so clear ... even when the sun goes down and it get's a bit darker.. Also, they are also sharp vision and so pleasant to use. Very light so you don't get a neckache even after a few hours of use. Previously I had a pair of Monarch 5 that I loved and had to replace since I had lost them.. they were good but Monarch 7 gives me much more satisfaaction.. probably because of the 8 degree angle of view ...Theese are really great binoculars that I would highly recommend to birdwatchers and nature wildlife.... The only thing is that the eyepiece cap is much too big and doesn't fit at all.. Instead, I tried the ones of my old Monarh 5 that fit perfectly ;-) Hope this review helped.
I was in search of an upgrade from my 9x32 Denali $179.00 I had bought some 8yrs ago and kept running into the Nikon Monarch name. Upon testing some at a local store I purchased them here . Yes price was a big issue. To move into the realm of fully coated optics and ED glass is to say the least a treat. I can make out details on birds I could never see before. They are easy to focus and track small birds through trees with little or no trouble. Which is nice as I wear rx glasses I am into wildlife photography and see these going with me all the time. I am no expert by any means but in a midrange set of bins these are incredible. The only negative I have is the case. Who would design a case with a lid that doesn't cover the binocular completely?? Evidently Nikon believes this is the way to go.
