Extra protection
Fits well. Protects the lens when not mounted. I use these soft cases for all of my lens.

Doubly disappointed because I bought two
Not what I expected. Has a hard bottom so it takes up a lot of room. I also can't get the bag to stay closed without tying a little knot in the drawstring. Maybe I'm just spoiled because my other bag is soft leather and has a squishy bottom, but I just don't like these. They were inexpensive, though, so if you're just looking for a cheap bag to put the lens in...

Good protective lens bag
Like you, I want to protect my camera gear, to ensure it lasts for many years. Even though I keep my lenses in a solid padded camera bag, I take one more step and place them in sacks like these. Some manufacturers do not include a bag with their lenses, or the ones they include are extremely large and bulky. Nikon lens bags are slightly oversized to allow easy insertion or removal of your lens. When you pay $ or $ for a lens, $ more for a protective bag is a sound investment. Great Soft Lens Case
I received one of these with my 18-200 VR lens and realized it would lend itself well to my other Nikkors. So I purchased 3 for my 24-120, 35-7- and 18-50MM lenses. Works great
