I own two of these bags. I enjoy the combination of a velcro opening and zippers. For quick storage on the hip I use the velcro and after accomplishing the lens change I can follow up with the zippers. Very efficient. This case is a waste of time for protection of the lens. I think Nikon said;"for this amount of money we better give them something a little better then cardboard" This is just a good way to ship the lens. The case is not useable unless you put the whole thing in your camera bag. Do not by it unless you get it with the lens purchase. Buy a Tamrac instead!

CL-M3 Semi Soft Case is Great Thanks!

By

I bought two of these cases for my Nikon lenses and am very pleased with them. For extra protection the Nikon Lens Bags with the pull tops fit into the cases. Waiting for them to restock to order additional cases.

Ideal also for the Zeiss 15mm

I had already one of the cases for the Nikon 24-70. When I bought the Zeiss T* 15mm f2.8 I scoured the internet for a decent case until I noticed that it fit in this case. The fit for this lens is understandably not perfect since it is not intended for it, but at least my expensive glass has some good protection when not in use.

Almost

It seemed like a nice casse, tough and well padded with fast access. But after just a few hiking trips the belt loop began to tear away. The same thing happened with the much lighter case for my sb-900 flash which was even more surprising given how light it is. Was quite disappointing, it would be nice to get some of the weight off my shoulders and onto a belt.

Did not last

I thought this pouch was alright, but after just a few expeditions the belt loop started to tear off, just from hiking around with the lens in the pouch. Reasonably good protection but not durable at all. Same thing happened with the Nikon sb-900 pouch I have.
