The Fieldscope III is a compact, all-weather fieldscopes sure to be popular with birders, wildlife viewers and naturalists.

The Nikon Fieldscope III is O-ring sealed and nitrogen filled to provide waterproof and fogproof performance in all weather conditions. BaK4 prisms are combined with specially selected, ultra smooth lens glass to provide complete flatness of field while virtually eliminating distortion. Newly formulated, multilayered anti-reflective coatings are used on all lenses and prisms to provide unexcelled clarity and brightness along with flare free viewing.

All Nikon Fieldscope III models incorporate a built-in sliding hood that keeps rain off the objective lens in poor weather while functioning as a sunshade on bright days.

Nikon Fieldscope III is compatible with current Nikon Fieldscope eyepieces. The Fieldscope III utilizes a 60mm objective lens, providing a 3mm exit pupil with a 20x eyepiece. With a 20x eyepiece, the close focus distance is just 50 feet, and the field of view at 1,000 yards is 156 feet.

The Fieldscope III is also very compact and extremely lightweight, making it a natural for backpackers and hikers. The angled version is just 12.7 inches long, 5.1 inches high, and 3.7 inches wide. The straight version is only 12.8 inches long, 4.4 inches high, and 3.1 inches wide. The straight version weighs a mere 2 lbs, 7 ounces, while the angled model weighs in at only 2 lbs, 11.3 ounces.
