I recently purchased a D700 and was looking for a new lens to add to my collection. I was trying to decide between a 50mm f1.4 and this lens. After doing a couple months of research I decided on the Nikon 85mm f1.4. It is a solid lens (all metal) and takes very sharp photos. Mostly, I've taken pictures of my seven month old daughter and my wife is impressed. I haven't tried any landscape shots, but that's next on the agenda. If you buy this lens you won't be disappointed!

Breaks easily. The plastic material is not strong enough. It is likely to break if droped. This is my 4th hood.
