The lens hood is a critical piece of a good lens

The lens hood is a critical piece of a good lens. I bought the hood from Adorama at a great price and it was delivered promptly. I used it on a refurbished lens the Nikon 35-70 f2.8. This lens is fanstastic but is prone to flares and sunlight. The lens hood protects from unwanted light. Over the past few years I have bought more from Adorama.

Nikon HN-23 Screw-on Lens Hood by Nikon

Threads on. Sturdy metal build. Adds the additional protection , haven't tested side by side to see how much glare is reduced or contrast added , but am pleased with the sturdiness. Can't use 62mm lens cap once on , you have to use a 77mm lens cap. To be considered.

Great Purchase

This is a cery well made lens hood. if you use a 77mm lens cap you can keep it on all the time

Beautiful

For all the accolades bestowed on Portra 400 (well deserved, obv) lest we not forget how great 160 is. Everything you want in a portrait film, with half the calories and grain of its bigger brother. Just buy it.

Nice quality product

Works fine on my 85/1.8. Storage in a bag is an issue since it does not easily reverse on lens. I do reverse it though by adding thin padding to inside of front edge of hood, preventing scratching of lens body.

Works with my Nikkor 85mm f/1.8D

Good quality hood for my 85 1.8D. Solid. My only issue with this type of hood is that it is screw on and not bayonet style. This makes it a impossible to use the original lens cap. Even with a center pinch cap, it is a bit difficult to use. Also, it is not as quick to break down as a bayonet style would be. Otherwise, a nice solid metal hood for protection of my Nikkor glass.
