Shopper : Any problems with using this hood on an AF-S 105mm f2.8G Micro-Nikkor lens?Robert B : I just tried mounting the lens with the HN-30 hood in front of a clear filter, on a D700. This hood has a considerably smaller diameter than the hood supplied with the 105 VR, is shorter and lacks the side cutouts (and of course cannot be reversed on the lens). But I did not notice any vignetting at any aperture. I only spent a few minutes on this, so cannot give a definitive answer.ROBERT T : It has 62mm threads so if you have the 105 2.8 with 62mm filter threads it will probably work. It might cause some vignetting, not sure since I've never used it on a 105 and does appear longer than the hoods they suggest. One of the hoods Nikon suggests is the HS-14 which snaps in place. I have a snap in hood for my older 105 micro (appears to use the same design), and I like using that one on my 105 much better than this one on my 200. It's easier and quicker to put on and take off. If I had known about that hood when I bought this one (which I didn't at the time) I probably would have bought that one instead.DOUGLAS B : Good Afternoon, The hood you are inquiring about is a screw mount device while the 105 G utilizes a bayonet mount. It may be possible to thread the hood for the 200 into the 105 but it will possibly cause some vignetting as it is designed for a longer focal length. The hood that comes with the 105 works quite well and would be my preference. I hope that this will prove helpful. Regards, Douglas A. Benson.DALE P : I have had no Problems with this HoodREID N : No problems that I've uncovered yet in terms of performance. Given the depth of the hood, it is slightly awkward to remove a lens cap or adjust a circular polarizing filter. I wouldn't hesitate in buying one.
Shopper : Why Did You Choose This?PETER L : fits my lensjohn b : tank youJAMES B : Needed it for my 200mm f4 microkeith l : got a used nikon 200mm f4 D micro for $200 & needed the hoodJAMES S K : Images are sharper without lens glare.STEVEN W : The 200mm doesn't come with the hood, you have to buy it separately. :-(

Now try to put a filter with this

Not much to say about a hood lens but I was surprise to find out that there are no ways to add a circular polarizer with this.
