The Best There IS

I have some of these lens shade's that are 25 years old. I have no off brand that's older than 4 months. The HR-1 and HR-2 are the same product.

nikon quality!

i will use the product for personal photography. The quality is as good as it gets. Nikon engineers have thought of everything. There is little more that could have made the product any beftter.

Quality vs clingy others out there

By

from Maine  -  Semi-Professional

Lens hood, well-enough made to also provide shock protection for plastic-bodied lenses.Have a neutral uv filter between from element and hood. Dropped one 3 ft and only lost filter. Considered a HR-2 but thought it might shatter Nikon's from stuff on impact.

Nikon HR-1 Rubber Hood

By

from Tigard, OR  -  Semi-Professional

I used it with my 50mm f/1.4 afd. It helps preventing flares when shooting landscape outdoors. It is collapsible so I leave it on my lens all the time.

Nikon HR-1 rubber hood

By

I carry a lot of gear. The space-saving aspect of a collapsable hood is a plus. Being a Nikon product I just assume it will be durable. An evaluation maybe a bit premature as I jusst started using it.

Great Lens Hood!

By

Works great on any of the 50mm Nikkors to prevent flare and ghosting. Also adds another level of protection.

Questions about this item:

Hal H  looking for a wide angle rubber hood for Nikon D50,sf-s dx nikkor lens. Yes, do you have such a hood?
ALLEN H  I have a HR-1 but I purchased it for use with my 50mm f/1.8 MANUAL focus lens for which it works perfectly. In my research to purchase a hood for my lens, I became aware of another rubber hood Nikon HR-2 which seems to be for AF lenses. I recommend that you do some research to confirm that HR-2 is applicable for your lens rather than the HR-1
Shopper  is it stiff?
Peta G  No, not stiff, excellent product and love the flexibility.
Shopper  I have a Nikon coolpix P520. Will this hood fit it?
DIANNE F  I don't have a coolpix that has lens attachments, but it does fit my 18-55 Nikon lens.
