Perfect design. Best I've ever seen.

Normally, I'm not the type to spend extra bucks on plastic accessories, but these Nikon caps are actually worth it. The generics work, but the Nikon caps are so perfect, you wonder why it took so long for such a basic accessory to reach its zenith of design. They're convenient -- you can pinch 'em on and off from the inside (good with hoods), or squeeze 'em on and off from the outside. They're thicker than other caps. UPS Lost it and I never received it. Adorama would not reimburse me or send a replacement for it.

I should keep a stock of these!

I'm forever losing lens caps. A deal would be a variety package where YOU chose sizes you need/use and the more you purchase the cheaper they are!

Perfect fit for lost lens cap. It protects the camera lens as well as the original. I have nothing negative to say about it.

Primary Nikon Lens Cap Size (52mm)

By

from Seattle, WA  -  Semi-pro Photographer

I have about 20 Nikon lenses with filter/cap sizes up to 67mm. But most are 52mm. This has been Nikon's standard size for as long as I can remember. Any lens design that possibly can, Nikon uses 52mm. And it seems that whenever I lose a lens cap, it is invariable a 52mm. So, I keep a couple of these in my spare parts all the time. When I use up the spares, I order another couple. (I also keep at least 2 spare rear caps, and 2 spare body caps, as well.) You can get generic caps, and if you lose them alot, perhaps that's your best bet. But I prefer the Nikon branded caps. I guess it's a vanity thing since I have such an extensive Nikon system. I also have some Nikon lenses with really old style Nikon caps. I bought new caps for these so I don't lose the antique caps.
