A reason to buy original Nikon accessories

I'm bothering to write a review on a lowly lens cap because I got burned by not purchasing a genuine Nikon lens accessory. I lost the original lens cap when it fell from my shirt pocket during a shooting trip. When I went to replace it, I couldn't find anything but a generic cap that had a tether that would loop around the lens or attach to the body. I found a generic one with a tether and it was way cheaper than a real Nikon cap so I bought it instead. Big mistake. The tether worked great but the lens cap kept falling off at the slightest provocation. I finally solved the problem by removing the tether from the generic cap and sticking it onto a newly purchased Nikon cap. There's no substitute for quality. Hopefully Nikon will read this and include tethers with their fine lens caps.

Ridiculously priced

If you spend almost $20.00 for a lens cap, I have a subprime and bridge for sale.

Perfectly Functional -- But Buy Two

By

from Washington, DC  -  Photo Enthusiast

I love these Nikon lens caps because I can remove them without looking by just cupping my hand around the cap and squeezing. I suppose the downside to having an easily edge-activated release is that I bump into things on occasion with my ever-present camera and every now and then inadvertently release and lose the lens cap. But for me, the ease of ordinary usage makes it worth losing a few caps. I always keep a replacement in each size I need on hand when I travel.

Great Service

By

I lose go through lens caps like throw-away Tupperware; I'm sure anyone behind me with a 77mm lens appreciates the gifts. This time I ordered two from Adorama so I'd have a backup. The price was good, and they were delivered promptly. I always trust Adorama.

Product and service were excellent!

By

from Baxter, MN  -  Photo Enthusiast

I had recently purchased a new Nikon AF-S Nikkor 70-200mm F/2.8G ED VR II lens. Was up on the North Shore in MN and lens cap went rolling down a cliff. I needed a new lens cap ASAP to protect my lens. Looked all over locally and could not find replacement for. Adorama had in stock and shipped out right away and I received quicker than anticipated. Thanks Adorama! Great product, great service.

Shopper  SKU: NKLC77 MFR: 4750 SKU: NKLC72 MFR: 4749 Are these genuine NIKON parts?
WILLIAM V  It says Nikon on the outside, LC-77 on the inside, but I can't swear it is a genuine Nikon product. I can tell you it works great on my Nikon lenses. very secure fit. The only thing I regret, which I recall was available one one of my prior lenses, is the lack of a strap affixed to the lens cap. thus I needed to buy separate straps to make sure I don't lose my lens cap when I take it off. I've only ever seen one lens cap with an attached strap, and I loved it. it was long enough to affix to the lens strap on my camera body. not sure if it was a Nikon product or something I got from Adorama.
